Jussie Smollett is now officially in the crosshairs of law enforcement, because Chicago PD said he's now "officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation ... for filing a false police report." The cops say detectives are currently presenting evidence to a Cook County Grand Jury. If Smollett is charged the felony carries a maximum 3-year prison sentence. We're told the 2 brothers are at the courthouse now and are expected to testify ... most probably today.

BRUSSELS – Ready to flex their pecs and strike a pose, bodybuilders at the Belgian championships scattered when doping officials showed up. After a spate of positive doping tests in recent years in Belgium, the event had been moved across the Dutch border to Vlissingen for the weekend competition. "They must have felt safe out there," doping official Hans Cooman told the Associated Press on Monday. But Cooman and two colleagues got the necessary papers to check the tournament in the Netherlands. And when they identified themselves just before the event — with the 20 bodybuilders weighing in and preparing...

BODYBUILDING may seem the height of vanity to many people. But for Errol Rivard and a small but worldwide band of dumbbell pushers based in Victoria, it's an opportunity to promote gospel values. Last month, Rivard and three local members of the International Christian Body Building Association(ICBBA) - which he founded in 2002 - flexed their pecs and witnessed about their faith at a local avant garde event called Celebrate the Body. Something of a circus of the performing arts - with modern dancers improvising to a string ensemble in one venue while acrobats cavorted in another - it was...

Khosraw Basheri feverishly pumped iron for years, toning his body so it rippled with muscle and veins. His hard work paid off when he claimed a historic title in his war-battered country -- Mr. Afghanistan. The 23-year-old businessman from western Herat province flexed and grinned his way to victory Saturday in Afghanistan's first-ever national competition to select a top bodybuilder. "I will never forget this day, the day I became Mr. Afghanistan," said Basheri, sweat and makeup streaming down his massive frame. "This has been my hope for the past two years, since I started preparing myself for this."At 96...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - High schools nationwide are struggling with rising steroid use, not just among football linemen battling for college scholarships but also among non-athletes who think bigger biceps will make them more popular. Most schools cannot afford the costly tests for detecting illegal bodybuilding drugs. Even those that test for marijuana and cocaine do not check for steroids, which are potentially more destructive. "For a small district to do this kind of testing would be cost-prohibitive," said Joseph Wilimek, school superintendent for Angels Camp. At Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp, all student-athletes and cheerleaders take urine tests...

The federal investigation into steroids has expanded to the world of bodybuilding. The home and gymnasium of a bodybuilder linked to Balco Laboratories was searched last November, and last weekend federal agents reportedly handed out subpoenas at an Ohio bodybuilding convention co-owned by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. A Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman in Los Angles told the Mercury News that agents searched the Temecula home of Milos Sarcev, a former Mr. Yugoslavia. ESPN reported Thursday night that federal agents delivered at least five subpoenas to bodybuilders at the Arnold Fitness Weekend in Columbus, Ohio, as part of a second grand jury...
