Tonight it was announced that the Penn State board of trustees has fired Joe Paterno for failing to report to law enforcement apparently criminal conduct which occurred in the team locker room involving a prominent member of the organization.

Paterno is a disgrace, and has forever besmirched college football.

Tony LaRussa also failed to report to law enforcement apparent criminal conduct which occurred in the team locker room and involved a prominent member of the organization.

Like Paterno, LaRussa is a disgrace and has besmirched MLB forever. He should never be allowed in the HOF.

Here you go, John. Right up your alley.

You're gonna tee this one up for me, are you lad? Well thank you.

Good riddance to perhaps the biggest scoundrel ever to disgrace the managerial ranks of major league baseball. Hopefully his successor will fire that fraud Mark McGwire.

Time for Tony to get out on the golf course. Look for his upcoming golfing appearances at the Barry Bonds Open, The Roger Clemons Classic, and the Canseco Cup.

In 2005, LaRussa lied, saying "I am absolutely certain that Mark earned his size and strength from hard work and a disciplined lifestyle . . . "

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/07/sports/baseball/07canseco.html

Of course, we know that McGwire later admitted to using PED's.

Jose Canseco, who has been nothing but right about PED's in baseball, said this about LaRussa's denials that he, LaRussa, did not know about McGwire's cheating:

"That's a blatant lie," Canseco said. "Tony La Russa was quoted as saying that I was using steroids back then, and I was talking about it in the clubhouse, openly. That's a blatant lie."

They won, suck it up. it’s just baseball.

Yeah it's baseball. The National Pasttime. The Quintessentially American Game. Apple Pie, Mom, and Baseball.

All of which has been sullied by Tony LaRussa.

He's a cheater. Suck it up and deal with it.

I don’t even like the Cards but this is just stupid.

I'll tell you what is stupid: Showering praise and respect on McGwire and LaRussa, who are perhaps the biggest cheaters ever to be involved in the game of baseball.

If Pete Rose were for some reason reinstated, and as a manager guided a team to a world series win, would that be right?

It is just not right that LaRussa is even allowed to be in the league. The cheating piece of crap should be exiled like Rose.

Apparently some Cardinal fans and other milk-toast types who think everything in MLB is nicey-nicey don't like to hear the truth.

It is day two of the OWS (Occupy World Series) movement.

And no one appears to disagree that Mark McGwire used performance enhancing substances, and that this is one of the biggest scandals, if not the biggest, in MLB history.

Arguably Pete Rose's gambling had less negative impact on the game than the McGwire/LaRussa cheating.

And all people can say is that the Cardinals fans are good fans? Huh? And that negates the unassailable premise that LaRussa is scum how?

McGwire took performance enhancing drugs and LaRussa knew it and condoned it. They are two scumbags in a pod . . . forever a stain on baseball.

Why any honest fan of the game would support these two misfits is beyond me . . .

LaRussa is a baseball genius...perhaps an evil genius...cause he must have done some kind of voodoo to get the Phillies to sweep Atlanta in the final 3 games of the reg. season...allowing one of the hottest teams in the league at the time(his Card's) to get into the postseason...over one of the worst(the Braves).

...(either that or Phillies management must be filled with complete baseball-strategy idiots)

Face it, the same baseball gods that love teams like the Cardinals and Yankees...hate the Cubs(and others).

    ...nobody said life was fair.

LaRussa a genius? He can hardly drool out a sentence to the ump when he tries to make an inane argument about a call . . . and then he forgets what he was arguing about . . . LOLOLOL

Tony's managerial moves are all routine . . . he basically got lucky in his series. Nothing he did led to any advantage . . . he can't even wipe his own ass anymore.

But all that aside, as a human being, Tony is just such a piece of garbage . . .

No one can refute the unassailable facts:

    LaRussa is a POS

    McGwire is a POS

Why does MLB allow these Pete Rose-esque pr!cks to even be in the league?

What we're seeing here is incandescent irony: Cardinals fans who think they are elated but cannot really celebrate because they know their organization--LaRussa, McGwire, et al--is a fraud.

The Cardinals won the World Series to erase the fraud, like a rapist finds God and erases his crime . . . LOLOLOLSt.LouisFraudsLOLOL

Nolan Ryan is a class act. He has more integrity his left nut than LaRussa will ever have.

And the thing is, even Cardinal fans know that.

Congrats to the Cardinals and to Hell with the damned choking Rangers. May they never see another World Series.

Nothing against their fans. I'm just stating the fundamental fact that everyone has known for years: LaRussa is scum.

And McGwire? His very presence is a disgrace to the game. How is he allowed in a MLB park???

You omitted the actual FIX that was in for this Series, the fraudulent rainout which allowed the Cards to start their ace for an extra turn in game 7.

I could not agree more. Did it even rain in St. Louis the other night?

    Fraudulent.

A 2002 study, conducted for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, found that nationwide, approximately 4400 Catholic priests were credibly accused of sexual abuse incidents occurring between 1950 and 2002, and that 81 percent of their victims were male. Some 78 percent of the males allegedly abused were adolescent males between the ages of 11 and 17.

The study was comprehensive, encompassing surveys responses provided by 195 dioceses, representing 98% all diocesan priests in the United States, and 140 religious communities, representing approximately 60% of religious communities and 80% of all religious priests.

The total number of priests with allegations of abuse in the survey was 4,392.

The largest group of alleged victims (50.9%) was between the ages of 11 and 14, 27.3% were 15-17 . . . . Overall, 81% of victims were male.

    See http://www.usccb.org/nrb/johnjaystudy/exec.pdf

In other words, the vast majority of the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal involves gay men going after adolescent or teenage boys.

Which raises the question: which trait of these molestors was more of a causal factor in their illegal behavior—their Catholicism or their homosexuality? If the latter, where is the criticism of the U.S. “gay community” for its role in nearly bringing down the Catholic church?

The priest molestation scandal is more of a gay scandal than a Catholic one, and that is not to excuse the cover up that occurred.

Rembert Weakland, the iconoclast former Milwaukee archbishop who often defied the Vatican, is trying to clean up his tarnished legacy with this new, disgusting "tell-all" book about his sexual urges.

Weakland is an utter disgrace to the priesthood. He is responsible for nearly bankrupting the Milwaukee archdiocese, which is now trying to sell its primary headquarters (The Cousins Center) to pay for all the abuse lawsuits. These lawsuits could have been avoided; but Weakland, being gay himself, allowed the victimization to go on for years.

Weakland is a poignant example of how the this is a GAY SCANDAL, not a Catholic scandal. It was the homosexuality, not the Catholicism, of the priests that led them to commit the illegal conduct.

It was the Homosexuality, not the Catholicism, that caused the barrage of lawsuits by young men victimized by gay priests.

    Here is the proof:

In 2002, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops commissioned a comprehensive national study of sexual abuse by Catholic priests.

The study, conducted by the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, found that nationwide, approximately 4400 Catholic priests were credibly accused of sexual abuse incidents occurring between 1950 and 2002, and that 81 percent of their victims were male. Some 78 percent of the males allegedly abused were adolescent males between the ages of 11 and 17.

Pertinent excerpts of the executive summary of the John Jay study are:

--The information contained in this report is based upon surveys provided by 195 dioceses, representing 98% all diocesan priests in the United States, and 140 religious communities, representing approximately 60% of religious communities and 80% of all religious priests.

--The mandate for the study was to: 1. Examine the number and nature of allegations of sexual abuse of minors under the age of 18 by Catholic priests between 1950 and 2002.

--The total number of priests with allegations of abuse in our survey is 4,392.

    --The largest group of alleged victims (50.9%) was between the ages of 11 and 14, 27.3% were 15-17 . . . . Overall, 81% of victims were male . . . .

    See http://www.usccb.org/nrb/johnjaystudy/exec.pdf

The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY (81%) of the abuse was gay sexual advances on male adolescents.

Gays like Rembert Weakland who could not keep their hands off the altar boys have nearly destroyed the Catholic Church in America.

***When is the Gay community going to pay its share of the reparations?***
