Graffiti park is private property close to castle hill near downtown Austin. The owner of the property had allowed the large concrete supporting structures to be a canvas for local artists and graffiti artists. Of course the property was recently sold and the new owner has actual plans for the property and all of the dips in the austin area screamed about heritage blah blah blah. I grew up in Austin and never knew about this until recently. Just a hippie hangout, that is no more. Search for graffiti park in Austin for images. It wasn’t terrible just a local spot.

This guy nailed it with one add. If you are looking for BBQ sandwich Three LIttle Pigs on Quince. I never had a good rib at rendevous. I lived in Memphis for 5 years and was in outside sales. Every out-of town guest wanted to go to rendevous. So I have eaten there a lot. Also I like corky’s but that might just be their buttery rolls. Have fun great town.

  • Victim shot by back-flipping FBI agent says he initially thought an 'idiot set off a firecracker'

Most criminal charges require intent. Possession, certain strict liability, recklessness ie criminal negligence, matters don’t. Without this intent there’s not really a criminal charge here. I would say reckless, but generally that is some idiot having target practice in his backyard and the stray shot hits a neighbor. Gun falls out, he grabs it, pulls the trigger. Negligent discharge, no doubt.

However, if any alcohol was involved we pretty quickly get to a reckless place. What I think is interesting is how this matter is being handled by the press. As sort of a joke, mistake and of course their constant reference to this as an “accident.”

There is no truth to important to suppress, and no lie to big to tell, to push their narrative. But how does this fit in? Curious Any thoughts out here, on why this is being handled the way it is? And why this idiot has not been outed by the press? Name him!

  • NEED INPUT- anyone in Houston area

    Terart,

I have lived all over Houston and most recently lived downtown and moved back to Austin from the houston heights. I have also lived in Katy and in Spring.

The funny thing about Houston is that there isn’t really any traditional notion of zoning. So places live bellaire, river oaks and memorial (traditionally well-heeled locations) are surrounded by much less affluence.

If they are young and not looking to buy anything right away then mid-town, the museum district, the galleria area and the heights would probably be most attractive.

If they have children, then unfortunately the area inside the beltway isn’t a good option because the schools are not particularly noteworthy, and there are so many good schools in the outlying suburbs (katy, sugarland, missouri city etc)

I have always enjoyed the time I spent living in Houston, (the weather can be a bit miserable in the summer) as it is a very energetic and cosmopolitan city.

They should have a grand adventure. And if they have the option just have them rent an apartment in midtown for a few months to get a feel for the city.

So I found this funny video on this cab driver's blog. A lot of his work is pretty blue, and considering he drives a night shift cab in a Florida beach town it makes perfect sense. But this video he put together is worth 5 minutes. And I don't think Ive felt that any video was worth my time in quite some while.

Can someone help me with the procedural issues of the “Iran Deal?” What I don’t understand is why the senate has to block this deal as if it is presumed enacted, while they always have to approve every other treaty or foreign executive action that binds the country. What am I missing? Does it have to do with this ridiculous Corker bill?

“Muslims in France have nothing to do with these attackers. We are not responsible, neither individually or collectively.”

They were identified as Said and Cherif Kouachi, 32 and 34, and Hamyd Mourad, 18. French news reports said the brothers had been born in Paris, raising the prospect that homegrown Muslim extremists were responsible.

Newsflash... Live on the streets of Paris, Im Jacques Chevalier Muslims murder innocent people at work drawing silly cartoons. We’ve reached out to a Muslim on the street. “Sir what do you have to say?” “We fear a backlash.” There you have it people. Muslim’s murder and Muslims fear non-muslim’s backlash. Because you don’t slice it up. You pull it apart. Also the test of a well cooked pork butt is that the big bone can be easily and smoothly pulled out of the cooked meat which can then be inspected for penetration of smoke and for moisture on the bone. Bon Apetit!

It is an interesting numbers game and some game theory might be useful. It is self-evident that an upper atmosphere EMP blast/blasts would shut down the electrical grid. Food spoilage would occur rapidly and certain MSA’s would be very hard hit as their access to food and water is reliant on its being delivered from outside of the areas limits. 70MM Americans live in the top 10 metro stat areas. And this population also has the largest concentrations of at risk population. For this hypo, they are defined as anyone with resources that only could support them for a few days. Low cupboards, food and water stock, or anything of value to trade.

As rational actors these areas would rapidly descend into chaos (2-3 days). No reactive or proactive Law enforcement activity could prevent it.

But what would the ultimate body count be. Millions would be lost in the 1st month. 4-5 million. Mostly due to dehydration, exposure and starvation. Most people as rational actors in conflict, would just hunker down. Hoarding supplies and going into a survival mode.

Cities outside the affected areas would see a huge influx of refugees, and would begin to assimilate them or set up camp areas that could be effectively managed.

The real question is how long we are without power due to EMP. I actually don’t think it would take too long to restore power. EMP blasts primary impact operating electronics and sensitive unsheilded devices (cellphones, towers, PCs, Tvs your basic consumer electronics).

So I imagine a timeline (assuming total national power grid failure) where, 1month we lose 4-5million, 3 month 5-10, and at a year (which I consider highly unlikely unless there is directed govt action against the people) the population should stabilize with ~20MM lost.

You can research these numbers against other disaster areas. The multiplier effect should be considered based on the amount of the power grid that goes down. Once it exceeds 75% of the country it should be considered a total power grid failure.

We often talk of “common sense” but as words are losing their meaning (and their meaning is being intentionally distorted) common sense should be defined again. Websters says ‘sound judgement based on the facts’. Still not good enough, too much wiggle room for those who intend to mislead. Common sense is understanding cause and effect. And their relationship.

With this definition it is easy to see that those who seek to reign over us do so with intent and contempt.

They are the cause and know the effect. This is not partisan. Bush spent our money foolishly. He is a piker to Obama but cut of the same cloth. Those who intend to reign and expect free men to become their tax slaves.
