  • There's A Reason Fox Is The Highest Rated Network

... I don’t subscribe to or buy any newspapers. But I would if there was one “like Fox News.” The print media today misses all the “big stuff” ... leaving Pulitzers on the table and not reaching for fame, glory and ratings. There’s just the slow march to death. Imagine a newspaper with Fox’s attitude and editing. Would you buy it? I would.

Think about it. Clinton(s) is to the RIGHT of Obama (only Karl Marx, Lenin and the Huffington Post are further to the left!). So does that make Clinton a part of the Right Wing Conspiracy? Frankly, I'd welcome him if he could help us move to the right at the National Level. Maybe we could get him to join the FR?

  • Obama Heading to Copenhagen for Olympic Pitch (they think we're so stupid)

This is getting ridiculous. This man will take the "first plane out" to avoid a decision. We've got troops dying in Afghanistan and this President decides the Olympics are more important than making a decision (ONE WAY OR THE OTHER) for our troops? We had another President once that decided to make the Olympics a part of presidential foreign policy ... that one was summarily defeated in a landslide at the next election. Aren't the similarities amazing?

Obama is not a leader, he is an actor ... decision-making is not part of his makeup ... that's why he voted "Present" 130 times as a state senator. Today, by NOT making a decision and by putting the Olympics ahead of the safety of our troops in Afghanistan ... he is again voting PRESENT.

I was amazed how they used the race card on Joe Wilson. Just because he's from “South” Carolina ... that Maureen Dowd should be tarred and feathered for even bringing it up. That had NOTHING to do with his outburst ... the President simply was telling a LIE. Like we saw at the 9-12 rally in DC, the poster that said “It doesn't matter what this sign says, you'll say its raciest” ... that pretty well sums it up. Rush was right, racism will be “worse” with a black President ... what does he say? “Don't doubt me!” :-)

I told my kids not to go to school. (’course one is 43 and the other is 34 ... so they may have bailed out of school some time ago?). Seriously, why anyone would allow their kids to go “hear/see” this man is beyond me. Its just wrong.

Every time I go shopping, I buy another 6 pack ... of light bulbs. I have about 200 of them safely tucked away up in the attic. I'm a senior citizen, so I now almost have a "lifetime supply" of them, to hell with the new [REPUBLICAN SUPPORTED] requirements.

Our local electric company sends us one now and then "free" to get us going in that direction. I simply leave it in the package, hammer it [literally), put a note on it saying "don't ever send me another one" and send it back to them ... haven't got a clue if they need a hazmat suit to open their mail, don't really care. I'm amazed they are allowed to send such a dangerous item through the mail. They've sent 3, I've "returned" 3.

... and yes, on my yellow Jeep Wrangler, I have a bumper sticker that says: "I'm pro choice on light bulbs". (You can get them from WND).

I WAS an Episcopalian. Amazing how the progressives just seem to have all the “rights.” I watched it happen in my own church ... and there was about as much to stop it as there was to stop Obama. It's not really that different. I'm watching the RCs as an observer of the same game that destroyed my church. And seeing the Catholic church lavish praise on an avowed abortionist all weekend, remembering Notre Dame, .... same pattern. Someone here told me to head for the RC church and “come back home” to real Christianity ... glad I hesitated. Hey, that Black Liberation stuff looks like fun, they've got guitars!

  • Senate Bill Would Give President Emergency Control of Internet

Here's the "Thomas Summary" ... Giving the President control in an emergency doesn't seem to show here .... (?) This from: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:SN00773:@@@D&summ2=m&

    1. Cybersecurity Act of 2009 - Directs the President to establish or designate a Cybersecurity Advisory Panel to advise the President.

    2. Defines "cyber" as: (1) any process, program, or protocol relating to the use of the Internet or an intranet, automatic data processing or transmission, or telecommunication via the Internet or an intranet; and (2) any matter relating to, or involving the use of, computers or computer networks.

    3. Directs the Secretary of Commerce to: (1) develop and implement a system to provide cybersecurity status and vulnerability information regarding all federal information systems and networks managed by the Department of Commerce; and (2) provide financial assistance for the creation and support of Regional Cybersecurity Centers for small and medium sized U.S. businesses.

    4. Requires the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to establish cybersecurity standards for all federal government, government contractor, or grantee critical infrastructure information systems and networks.

    5. Makes NIST responsible for U.S. representation in all international cybersecurity standards development.

    6. Directs the Secretary to develop or coordinate a national licensing, certification, and recertification program for cybersecurity professionals and makes it unlawful to provide certain cybersecurity services without being licensed and certified.

    7. Requires Advisory Panel approval for renewal or modification of a contract related to the operation of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority.

    8. Requires development of a strategy to implement a secure domain name addressing system.

    9. Requires the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support specified types of research and to establish a program of grants to higher education institutions to establish cybersecurity testbeds.

    10. Amends the Cybersecurity Research and Development Act to expand the purposes of an existing program of computer and network security research grants.

    11. Requires the NSF to establish a Federal Cyber Scholarship-for-Service program.

    12. Requires NIST to establish cybersecurity competitions and challenges to recruit talented individuals for the federal information technology workforce and stimulate innovation.

    13. Requires the Department of Commerce to serve as the clearinghouse of cybersecurity threat and vulnerability information. Grants the Secretary access to all relevant data concerning such networks notwithstanding any law or policy restricting access.

    14. Directs the President to: (1) develop and implement a comprehensive national cybersecurity strategy; (2) on a quadrennial basis, complete a review of the cyber posture of the United States; and (3) work with representatives of foreign governments to develop norms, organizations, and other cooperative activities for international engagement to improve cybersecurity.

    15. Requires the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Commerce to submit to Congress an annual report on cybersecurity threats to and vulnerabilities of critical national information, communication, and data network infrastructure.

    16. Establishes a Secure Products and Services Acquisitions Board to review and approve high value products and services acquisition and establish validation standards for software to be acquired by the federal government.

..... I numbered these above so they could be discussed. #14 seems to come the closest in wording ... but I don't see the power given according to this summary from Thomas. Is it stated somewhere else? I don't like a lot of what I see, but I don't see the "shutdown/takeover" clause, at least not in this summary. (And if it is in the text, it should be in this summary). Maybe its buried in the subtext of #14 above?

Remember that bumper sticker with the flag that says “these colors don't run” ... ??? We are now living in a nation of cowards, that helicopter should have immediately DESTROYED that boat ... no hesitation. But today, you can steal from a Best Buy because their policy won't let you get caught in their parking lot, you can aim a firearm at a US Navy helicopter and pull the trigger and nobody will do anything about it. Oh boy are “they” going to be surprised when all this cowardice “comes home to roost.” (’course it will be Bush's fault). This story made me sick, touch to be in the military or the CIA these days.
