After yesterday’s news of the deal between Senators Pat Leahy and Charles Grassley to get documents and testimony from ATF chief Kenneth Melson on Operation Fast and Furious, it seemed as though Democrats might finally take the scandal of the gunrunning fiasco seriously. FAIRFAX, VA: “If you are a federally licensed dealer in firearms, you may recently have received a survey questionnaire from gun control supporter Dr. Garen Wintemute, of the University of California, Davis,” a June 29 National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action alert warns. “The survey asks dealers questions about their business, their reasons for being in the business, their support for gun control, and their customers,” it explains.
