So I'm sitting here minding my own business, surfing the web on Sunday morning, when all of a sudden the telephone rings, and what do you know? It's President Bush calling (recorded message) encouraging me to fill out my absentee ballot and support the republican candidates. Now, I think it is way cool that he would be thinking about me this morning, what with all of the other crap that must be on his mind. Funny, though, I did not request an absentee ballot, so I guess he called me by mistake.

Somewhere, sometime, prior to the actual mailing of the anthrax envelopes, the anthrax attack must have been tried and tested. The terrorists would not have taken this approach, unless they were convinced it would have some measure of success. The intended effect must have been to infect a great number of people.Had the intent been just to scare people or to disrupt mail delivery, they could have achieved nearly the same resultwith something much easier to handle and obtain. While they must be discouraged at the actual results of the attack, they must at the same time be encouraged by our response to the attack. Our response has ...

I've heard a lot of folks talking lately about "what can I do to help?" and "what should I do to prepare?".I've heard TV reports indicate that our new "Office of Homeland Security" is going to tell us how and what we, as citizens should do. Many sheeple seem to be waiting to be told what they should do.It seems there are many things that all of us can and should be doing to "be pepared".Remember all of that effort in "getting ready" for Y2K? A lot of what needs to be done is along those same lines.Keep extra food ...

Parachute Accident Mars Coleslaw Wrestling SAMSALA, Fla. (Reuters) -A parachutist landed on a beer vendor at a coleslaw wrestling match during central Florida's raucous ``Bike Week'' celebration, seriously injuring the vendor, sheriff's deputies said on Thursday. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Sopotnick's Cabbage Patch bar in Samsala, which sponsors an annual coleslaw wrestling match as part of the motorcycle festival that draws as many as 500,000 riders from around the nation to the Daytona Beach area. Just before the women wrestlers squared off in a pit full of cabbage and oil, a sky diver hired to parachute into ...

I am concerned that Dems in the US Congress "could" take the position that Missouri did not abide by "Pre-existing" rules for the selection of electors because they changed the rules on election night and allowed polls in St. Louis to remain open late.

I cannot speak for the authenticity of the following message. It was forwarded to me via e-mail from an associate. My choices are 1)Ignore it as a possible hoax or a snipe hunt; OR2)pass it along to see if anyone knows the validity of this group. Here is the message - This information is UNVERIFIED.Mystery, intrigue surround military ballots. We need help on two fronts. First, we need an attorney in Florida who is licensed to practice in Federal court there. I am licensed in the federal court in the Western District of Texas and it would take time that we do not have ...

Two outstanding questions that I have yet to resolve.--1)Why did Baker go to Federal Court and NOT to State Court? Was it to preempt a Gore move to Federal Court by establishing that the Feds would not get involved?--2)My read of the Florida Statute says that a hand count can only proceed AFTER there has been a finding of a machine or system tabulation error. The 1% sampling in Palm Beach County found NO SUCH ERROR. The Palm Beach canvassing committe in fact specifically said that the errors were HUMAN error!" Is it possible (plausible) that the Florida Board will ...

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — State police have begun impounding ballots from Tuesday's election after Republican lawyers asked courts to order protection for early voting and absentee ballots cast statewide, in case they are needed for recounts or review later. "It's not to impound all the ballots, but all the paper ballots — the early-voting and absentee," said Albuquerque-based GOP National Committeeman Mickey Barnett. He said he and fellow GOP attorney Duncan Scott, his former law partner, planned to file impoundment petitions in all 13 judicial districts in the state to impound those ballots within their jurisdictions. "All it is," he said, ...
