I always had my contact lenses prescribed for left eye near, right eye far. Had the same done for the cataracts and have never looked back. From what I hear the near/far solution is not for everyone.
My memory will screw this up, but I’ll give it a shot.
Probably 20 years ago Madden was doing a show/interview and he told a story about when the Raiders were either competing for a playoff slot or trying to advance to the next round.
The score was going back and forth, back and forth. Late in the fourth quarter the Raiders, QB’d by Kenny “The Snake” Stabler, we’re driving for the win. It was third and something, crowd going nuts. Madden said he didn’t have a clue as to what play to call. Stabler, under center, calls a time out. Madden is elated - The Snake knows the call to make. Kenny comes to the sideline, crowd is going nuts. The Snake pulls his helmet back and swigs some Gatorade. Madden is waiting breathlessly for the play that will win the game for them. The Snake looks at Madden - here it is thinks John - and says “This is a hell of a game, isn’t it!”.
One of the guys Moms was being interviewed on local TV once. She said that whenever she went to a store (the old K-Mart on Greene Street?) she would move all the REO albums to the front of the racks. Kind of cute.
Back in the ‘80s my wife and I were in graduate school at the University of Illinois ( Champaign-Urbana campus). MTV debuted/blasted off on the local cable system on a Friday at 6:00pm with a video of a live performance of Roll With the Changes (if memory serves me correct) by REO Speedwagon (they were from CU). Nice touch by MTV to do that for the kick-off.
Can we sober up a bit? We have all the hand-wringing on FR after Benghazi, but many of us make light of this threat . . . there are a bunch of brave people in the US Embassy in Yemen, including the COM - they need your prayers and support.
