I have just become aware of a great abuse of H1B visas. The situation is a large cellular phone contractor that has been recruiting cell phone engineers for H1B visas from the Philippines (which is where my wife is from, and how I have heard of this). The engineers basically put their name in and are automatically put in process to come over without even an interview.
