    U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts may look like the kindly, smiling, grandfatherly type. But his campaign just hired Corry Bliss — a guy in his young 30s — to be in charge of what could turn into weeks of ugly political attacks against Roberts’ major opponents, independent Greg Orman and Democrat Chad Taylor.     Who is Rick Kochuyt? For one thing, he’s about to be the new owner of U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s Grandview Auto Wash, which Kochuyt has managed since 2007. His attorney, Joe Harter of McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan PC, confirmed that an entity controlled by Kochuyt is close to completing the purchase. The agita the carwash has caused Cleaver has been well documented. Bank of America sued the congressman in March for defaulting on a 2002 loan that, with interest and late fees, has racked up a balance of $1.6 million. A trial in that case is set for April....

    In responding to a different inquiry by the House Oversight Committee, Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich made a comment that may come back to haunt the DOJ. In a response regarding ATF Acting Director Melson's right to a private attorney, Weich stated “[I]t seems unreasonable to suppose that Mr. Melson did not did not understand what appears quite clear to his subordinates.” Does this apply to Holder in regard to Fast & Furious?
