This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

This morning, it seems that the dam has broken against the Obama administration and the Congress. All articles that have anything to do with Governement Health seem to show a hugely negative response from the readers (bloggers). The same is true for any government proposal the government is trying to force upon us. I believe Cap and Trade is starting to attract a fast and steady increase of opposition to it, as well. The tide is turning quicly against Obama, imo. I look for Obama's popularity and that of Congress to plummet even further in the next couple of weeks, down...

Did you know that over the past century, our media has been arguing that unless we change our ways, we are going to either freeze to death or join Satan in the southwest corner of Hell? Ah, but I am getting ahead of myself (more on that point below).

Speaking two-and-a-half months after the 2006 elections, Keller allowed that he's feeling "a little vindication." And who can blame him? The "fusillade" of criticism directed at the Times , from both the right and the left, has slowed down, to Keller's relief. "I can focus more on journalism, not rebuttals," he points out. Bloggers lashed out in December 2005 when Times reporters James Risen and Eric Lichtblau disclosed that President Bush had secretly authorized the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on people living in the U.S. to unearth evidence of terrorist activities without the standard court-approved warrants. Bush had tried...

In an effort to set the record straight, Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance President Wayne Baker will clarify today the Rev. Jesse Jackson's call to disinvest in Columbus. Jackson made the call Monday morning in Atlanta for people across the country to pull their money out of financial institutions based in Columbus until the man who shot Kenneth Walker is federally prosecuted and Georgia adopts anti-racial profiling legislation. Baker, who stood next to Jackson as he made those remarks, said he was "somewhat surprised" by the call for the disinvestment and said he and other local leaders did not agree with it....

ASHINGTON, June 24 — A top State Department expert on chemical and biological weapons told Congressional committees in closed-door hearings last week that he had been pressed to tailor his analysis on Iraq and other matters to conform with the Bush administration's views, several Congressional officials said today. The officials described what they said was a dramatic moment at a House Intelligence Committee hearing last week when the weapons expert came forward to tell Congress he had felt such pressure. By speaking out, they said, the senior intelligence expert, identified by several officials as Christian Westermann, became the first member...

Has anyone besides myself experience navigation issues with the Free Republic site (particularly in the Forums section)? I find that when I am in the "Latest Articles" Forum, I click on an article, read it, hit the back key, and I end up in an older version of the "Latest Articles" webpage. The only way I can get back to the most current is by clicking the Search button on the main "Latest Articles" forum page searching for "Articles Only". This is aggravating. I have written two letters to the WebMaster, but to no avail. Any recommended solutions to this ...
