On the Right there’s a heck of a lot of shunning being experienced. The tech titans throwing us off their media; the US Chamber of Commerce members frantically virtue signaling their desire to fund only congressional opinions they subscribe to; the daily hit list of small businesses harassed by the “virtuous” in their communities. But, there’s something at odds with logic in most of these relationships. When the Fortune 500 tell us we’re deplorable, when twitter or facebook shut us out, those are cases where the providers of goods and services are giving an extended middle finger to a big...

OCEAN BEACH (KUSI) – San Diego City Councilmember Jennifer Campbell held a press conference Tuesday where she angrily berated people who were not obeying social distancing guidelines or wearing masks in Ocean Beach. She was joined by other City and County officials who were in attendance to support her message. They met in Ocean Beach at a popular park near the sand where unauthorized sidewalk vendors have been setting up, Wednesday nights especially.

Well, we have a couple of polls, I guess, research studies that may explain a lot. One of them I had not heard of, and the results in this one are gonna stun you. Maybe they won’t....SNIP...And it is essentially this. The average American believes that 9% of the U.S. population have already died from COVID-19. Nine percent of the U.S. population is 30 million people. So the average American thinks that 9% of the population’s already died, 30 million people are dead. Now, why would they think such a thing? Sadly, it is a testament to the Drive-By Media.

Glasgow is on lockdown today amid unconfirmed reports that three people have been stabbed to death in a hotel by a knifeman then shot by armed police. The Scottish city centre is on lockdown after Police Scotland declared a 'major incident' at around 1pm before officers with automatic weapons stormed the Park Inn hotel in West George Street.

On the way back from the grocery store this morning, decided to pick up a round of coffees from Dunkin. 4-5 cars in line ahead, we joined followed by a local PD cruiser.Placed the order, drove to the window. After they'd cashed me out, I asked if I could pay for the guy behind me (the L.E.O.).Some confusion on their face, then: "Sorry sir, the car ahead of you just paid for his coffee!".And this is in Karen's Republic of Mass! Happy Flag Day!
  • Hydroxychloroquine: Benefits, Side Effects, and Dosing

    05/19/2020 12:47:25 PM PDT · by Riflema · 16 replies
Hydroxychloroquine was previously prescribed only for people whose lupus disease activity was mild in its course; if the lupus became active, steroids or immunosuppressants would be prescribed instead. Today, however, HCQ is recommended for most individuals with lupus, whether mild, moderate, or severe, as well as during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Given the drug’s many and varied beneficial effects and its excellent long-standing safety profile, most rheumatologists believe that hydroxychloroquine should be taken by people with lupus throughout their lifetime. Annual examinations with a qualified retina specialist are strongly encouraged, however.

    AltNewsMedia ^ | 3/12/20 | Unknown
As the impact of the Corona Virus (Covid-19) continues to grow, nowhere in Europe has been more affected than Italy, and in particular northern Italy. With a complete lockdown announced by the Italian Government, everyday life for Italians has ground to a halt as the rise in cases of Wuhan-Flu continues. This has raised the question of why Italy has suffered more than other countries to date? AltNewsMedia has a theory as to what may lie behind this. Many Italians in Northern Italy have sold their leather goods and textiles companies to China. Italy then allowed 100,000 Chinese workers from...

Good morning, Valerie:The word “congratulations” is much too banal. The thrill hasn’t remotely begun to wear off. I’ve never felt more hopeful about our political future. I want to dedicate all my talents and energies to helping Barack seize the arc of history. Nothing matters to me more. After this message, I’ve pasted in a short piece I published in Forbes.com (which appeared yesterday as the first item on www.realclearpolitics.com) that puts in personal terms how I felt yesterday. When I saw Barack and Michelle briefly in the “surrogates” tent after Barack delivered his remarkable speech, he told me he...

    Here's an interesting quick, "back of the envelope" calculation of how many Mexicans have emigrated from their beloved homeland.Their government does maintain statistical records of births, deaths and overall population, which even an English speaker such as myself can find and download (link above).Take a look at this table of births & deaths: Year Birth death net Calculated Popn 1990 2,735,312 422,803 2,312,509 81,249,645 1991 2,756,447 411,131 2,345,316 83,594,961 1992 2,797,397 409,814 2,387,583 85,982,544 1993 2,839,686 416,335 2,423,351 88,405,895 1994 2,904,389 419,074 2,485,315 90,891,210 1995 2,750,444 430,278 2,320,166 93,211,376 1996 2,707,718 436,321 2,271,397 95,482,773 1997 2,698,425 440,437 2,257,988 97,740,761 1998...

High quality global journalism requires investment. McKinsey, one of the world’s most influential consulting firms, has built up a secretive $5bn internal investment arm that manages the fortunes of its past and present partners, raising questions over possible conflicts of interest. Known as McKinsey Investment Office Partners, it is overseen by a 12-strong board of the consultant’s most senior partners and advisers, according to documents seen by the Financial Times.
  • The 320,000 Muslim Refugees: Bulgaria's Loss, Turkey's Gain, Everyone's Problem (Self-deportation!)

Washington Report on Middle East Affairs ^ | November 1989 | Richard H. Curtiss
Some 320,000 Muslims from Bulgaria surged unexpectedly into Turkey in June, July and August of this year, and an additional half million may hope to follow. Viewed demographically, historically or economically, it has become one of the most sudden and significant population shifts since World War II. The sheer numbers indicate the dimensions of the problem posed for both countries. Bulgaria's population is 9 million, of whom about 1.5 million are Muslim. Depending upon the reports they receive from their co-religionists already in Turkey, another half million may soon be pressing to emigrate. Already Bulgaria has called for volunteers and...

On January 6, 2004, Senator Charles Schumer and I challenged the erroneous idea that jobs offshoring was free trade in a New York Times op-ed. Our article so astounded economists that within a few days Schumer and I were summoned to a Brookings Institution conference in Washington, DC, to explain our heresy. In the nationally televised conference, I declared that the consequence of jobs offshoring would be that the US would be a Third World country in 20 years. That was 11 years ago, and the US is on course to descend to Third World status before the remaining nine...

WASHINGTON — Gov. Charlie Baker is getting a pittance in disaster aid from the Obama White House compared to the tens of millions of dollars former Gov. Deval Patrick scored for lesser storms than the worst winter in memory inflicted on the Bay State, a Herald review found. The Federal Emergency Management Agency rejected Baker’s request yesterday to extend the time available to Bay State communities to apply for reimbursement for the late-January blizzard.Only $67.5 million in federal relief is expected to be available. That’s a drop in the bucket for the estimated $350 million or more in expenses incurred during the...

Crude oil is not the only commodity that is crashing. Iron ore is on a similar trajectory and for a common reason. Namely, the two-decade-long economic boom fueled by the money printing rampage of the world’s central banks is beginning to cool rapidly. (snip)Nowhere is this more evident than in China’s vastly overbuilt steel industry, where capacity has soared from about 100 million tons in 1995 to upwards of 1.2 billion tons today. Again, this 12X growth in less than two decades is not just red capitalism getting rambunctious; its actually an economically cancerous deformation that will eventually dislocate the...
