It seems that District Attorney Ronnie Earl hasn’t heard of the ex post facto provision that the framer put in our constitution. For those who do not know, the constitution prohibits prosecution of an act that was legal when it was done, but later a law was passed making it illegal. A hypothetical example: someone commits a brutal murder, but people think the existing laws will not punish the murderer severely enough; so the legislative powers enact laws that will more severely punish those who have committed the crime of murder ensuring that this specific murderer will get a prison...

On Saturday’s Democrat weekly radio address, Washington State’s Maria Cantwell demonstrated just how little she knows about free enterprise. Ms. Cantwell spoke platitudes about energy conservation and overdependence on fossil fuels. It seems her answer to the problem is up to C.A.F.E. standards on American auto makers. Now don’t get me wrong, there is merit in making auto’s more energy efficient.....

So GWB has nominated White House counsel Harriet Miers as the next associate Supreme Court Justice. Is Ms. Miers qualified for this position? Does she have the temperament to serve the country well in the important position? As I sit here today I cannot answer that question. Before I could make a judgment on that question I would certainly have to consider her education and her professional history and one might think that all of our elected senators.......

Seems that the likes of Jesse Jackson and Maxine Waters are all bent out of shape because many African Americans wont be moving back to New Orleans. Now help me to understand this...the poverty rate in New Orleans was about 27 % and Jesse Jackson wants African Americans to stay there? One has to wonder what the motivation behind those who desire.....

As I was driving my car this morning, I heard on the radio how the governor of my state , Bill Richardson (D), was asking state workers to help conserve fuel. The report went on to say that the governor tootles around in an SUV, getting aroung 12 mpg. Gov Richardson's spokesperson said the governor was considering a more enetgy efficient vehicle but.......

John Roberts was sworn in yesterday as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and depending on who you ask, this is either the end of the world as we know it or a boon to reeling in the activist court system. I suspect that the truth is somewhere in between...only time will tell. Looks like there over 17, 000 acres on fire in California and I can wait to see how the democrats spin this to be GWB's fault
