After so many years, I recently closed down my FB account. Too many people, good or nominal to begin with, become total %&*@!%&^ on social media. Its the computer anonymity, I believe, in many cases. That said, I now have three relatives I am no longer on speaking terms - and why? Because they could not keep their petty insults in check. Few people in FB are ever persuaded by logical arguments and polite discourse.

Liberals have many coping mechanisms. Most choose whining, some choose typing in all caps on facebook, but a group of them in San Fransisco chose to do Anti-Trump Aerobics. https://www.facebook.com/motherjonesvideo/videos/1672216702808075/

The Code of Conduct for United States Judges, Cannon 5, states: "A Judge Should Refrain from Political Activity (A) General Prohibitions. A judge should not: . . . (2) make speeches for a political organization or candidate, or publicly endorse or oppose a candidate for public office . . . " Whether or not you agree with Justice Ginsburg's remarks about Donald Trump, Ginsburg's public opposition to Trump is a violation of Cannon 5. These rules need to apply to ALL judges and justices, or they are meaningless. I do not call for Ginsburg's impeachment or removal - merely a...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, said on Monday that giving identification cards to illegal aliens allows them to feel like citizens and enjoy some of the same benefits as actual citizens. "We don't want any of our fellow New Yorkers to feel like second-class citizens,” de Blasio was quoted as saying in a National Public Radio website article. “We don't want them to feel left out.”

When it comes to Barack Obama, I've always been out of sync. Back in 2008, when many liberals were wildly enthusiastic about his candidacy and his press was strongly favorable, I was skeptical. . . . Yes, Obama has a low approval rating compared with earlier presidents. But there are a number of reasons to believe that presidential approval doesn't mean the same thing that it used to ... . . . Am I damning with faint praise? Not at all. This is what a successful presidency looks like.

A friend of mine who is a graphic artist opened up the official PDF of Obama's birth certificate with Adobe Illustrator. According to him, and I quote: "Okay, I finally got my Trial version of Illustrator up and running. I downloaded the wh.gov version of the birth cert. It comes in with (9) "groups" with clipping paths. One clipping path (the one I enclosed) draws a box around the "Non" of "None". The next clipping path surrounds "AUG-8 196" ... and so on. I'm not a kook or anything, but this looks pretty sh***y. I would think a birth cert...

A SOMALI man who claims to be 112 years old has married a 17-year old girl. "Today God helped me realise my dream," Ahmed Mohamed Dhore said, after the wedding in the region of Galguduud. Bride Safiya Abdulle's family said she was "happy with her new husband". Mr Dhore says he wanted to marry Safiya for a long time but waited for her to grow up. "I didn't force her, but used my experience to convince her of my love; and then we agreed to marry," he was quoted by the BBC as saying. He said his children and two...

Conservatives yesterday expressed confusion and outrage over House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert's defense of a Democratic congressman whose Capitol Hill office was raided last weekend by the FBI. "Only thing I can figure is that Denny got up one morning and said, 'Our approval with the public is at 27 percent -- how can I drive that down further?'?" said former Rep. Bob Barr, Georgia Republican. . . . Radio host Rush Limbaugh yesterday told his millions of listeners that the Hastert-Pelosi alliance shows the GOP has become "politically tone-deaf," while a Louisiana senator was the only elected Republican in...

PARIS France's storm of rioting eased Wednesday, with car burnings falling nearly by half, police said. But looters and vandals defied a state of emergency with attacks on superstores, a newspaper warehouse and a subway station. The extraordinary 12-day state of emergency, which began at midnight Tuesday, covered Paris, its suburbs and more than 30 other French cities from the Mediterranean to the border with Germany and to Rouen in the north _ an indication of how widespread arson, riots and other unrest have become in nearly two weeks of violence.

Dearest People, Thank you for your prayers and emotional support. Unfortunately, after four days of touch and go, the twins were delivered at less than 23 weeks. While they survived but a few hours, I nonetheless thank God for the blessing of that short time. My wife endured immense pain and discomfort, as well as emotional ups and downs, for four days. She put in an effort that can be described only as heroic and selfless. This day she is my hero. Again, thank you all, and if I can't find the effort to thank each and every one of...

My wife is pregnant with twin boys. Yesterday, she went into pre-mature labor. The twins are ony 22 weeks along, and if they deliver in the next two weeks they wont survive. The doctors are doing everything they can to stop the delivery, but the prognosis isn't promising. I would appreciate your prayers for our unborn children, my wife and for strength of character should the worst happen. Thanks

Went in to vote in Montgomery, Co, Maryland -- a very blue county of a very blue state. There was about 1.25 hour wait. Only talked to four people in front of me and they were voting Bush. This included one white man, two Jewish women and one black man. Also, the grounds were populated with ten Bush signs and one sKerry sign. Oh, I suspect that Maryland will fall to the dark side, but not by any great margin.
