I went in to vote around 1:00. I was the only one there. Maybe people vote on the way from work or on the way home. I just retired so this is my first middle of the day vote. I didn’t note the number of voters before me.

A coworker recently told me that he has ALS. He is already starting to have noticeable symptoms. I cried with him when he told me. He is in our maintenance dept and is going to hang on as long as he can. Our supervisors are working with him and helping him. A horrible disease. I hope they find a cure, or at least find a way to slow it down. He has a granddaughter who he loves so much and grieves at the thought of leaving her. He is only 54.
I enjoy watching young people reacting to the music I loved. I love the music of the 70’s. They are being introduced to music they have never heard. It is fun to watch their reactions to a bands and singers and styles of music they had no idea existed. And it’s fun and interesting to watch British people as they are introduced to the American Revolution. Many had no idea that our war of independence was against Britain. I enjoy watching people being introduced to new things and experiences.
I’ve been enjoying those too! Reactions to “More Than a Feeling” by Boston, and British reactions to the Oversimplified American Revolution. Really fun to watch!
We recently watched all of the old “Avengers” with Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg. Very entertaining! Mr. sneakers is watching all of the Star Trek series. Other than that, the only newer shows we watch are Barnwood Builders, Maine Cabin Masters, Oak Island and Time Team (archaeology show). All the new stuff is crap.
I am a TLM Catholic in my late 60's. I had no choice but to attend a noon Novus Ordo mass to fulfill my Holy Day obligation. The church was packed with people my age and older. It's a university parish so I was surprised. Very few young people there. At the sign of peace, people were waving at each other. Hands in the air at the Lord's Prayer. Everyone receiving on the hand. The only two I saw who received on the tongue - one kneeling - were young men in their 20's. Each time the priest gave communion on the tongue, he went over to a bottle of hand disinfectant. Good grief.
I started to cry with joy when those two young men received Him so reverently. Our hope is with the young people.
