Yesterday, once the write-in votes had been counted, it would seem to the causal reader that Murkowski has won. But did she? Here is part of an e-mail that was sent by Bill, an observer for the Miller campaign. the title of the pictures speak for themselves. in the Penny Mayo picture, it shows an X over Lisa's filled in oval, and this was counted for Lisa. I personally witnessed a case where Joe's oval was filled in, with an X over it, and Lisa filled in too. She called it for Lisa, the logic being, "the other ovals were...

For the last week, there was a political tennis match being played in Senator Lisa Murkowsi's defeat. The issue on whether or not Lisa Murkowski would seek to run as an Independent was being volleyed back and forth between the Alaska Libertarian Party and supporters of Lisa Murkowski. One day, the Alaska Libertarian Party stated Senator Murkowski would not be a good fit. Then the next day, it seemed that she may fit the Alaska Libertarian Party. But through the volleys in the political game, a pledge by Senator Lisa Murkowski had been lost or silenced by the media; a...

The Anchorage Daily News ran a story late yesterday evening on Joe McGinniss leaving Alaska and it is more of a follow up to an earlier story published by A.P.:This summer, he resumed temporary residence in Alaska to research his next book -- this one about Sarah Palin -- and rented a house in Wasilla next to the former governor's place. The Anchorage Daily News plays up McGinniss' love for Alaska and at the end of the A.P. story, McGinniss is stating: "...That's my interest in her. If she was the governor of Nebraska, I wouldn't be writing about her, because I wanted a reason to...

This evening, I made a call to the same source who told me on August 25th, about the rumor that there were 1000 ballots missing. It seems that there is some concern on how high the percentage is in the returned absentee ballots. Some number crunching has been going on and in the story published yesterday by the Anchorage Daily News, the number of the returned absentee ballots and questioned ballots stood at 23,472 with more ballots coming in. There were more allegations by the Joe Miller campaign of ballot-counting monkey business on Saturday as the absentees continue to pour into the Alaska Division of Elections. State elections officials...

If there is going to be a change within the Republican leadership in the U.S. Senate, it looks like the change will rest on the shoulders of Senator Jim DeMint. In yesterday's Red County commentary, I stated that there seems to be a rift between the Republican senators in Washington D.C: The direction I will be pointing at will be at a rift between Republican senators in Washington D.C. and it looks like the rift is over the Tea Party movement. You would think given the fight against ObamaCare, there would be unity within the ranks of the Republican Senators. But...

This is going to be one of those commentaries that takes you in a different direction from what is taking place here in Alaska. The direction I will be pointing at will be at a rift between Republican senators in Washington D.C. and it looks like the rift is over the Tea Party movement But first, on August 25th, I had a conversation with a reliable source about a rumor that 1000 ballots had been missing in the Alaska primary. I had written about it here on Red County: Yesterday afternoon, I had a conversation with a very reliable source...

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran has obtained four S-300 surface-to-air missiles despite Russia's refusal to deliver them to Tehran under a valid contract, a semiofficial Iranian news agency claimed Wednesday.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a 43-year-old Iranian and the mother of two children, was convicted of adultery--a conviction based on a forced confession that Sakineh later retracted--in May 2006 and sentenced to death by stoning. Since her conviction, Sakineh has spent four years as an inmate in Iran's notorious Tabriz Prison, never knowing if today will be the day where her jailers take her from her cell, to a hole in the earth, bury her chest high and then pelt her with stones until she bleeds to death. Like Sakineh, I too am a mother and I was born in Iran....

Everything seems to indicate that there has been a breakthrough in the investigation ws. Russian Tupolev Presidential disaster. During a test flight over the military airport in Smolensk, the Russians agreed that the radar showed the incorrect data. Our eastern neighbors did not want the Poles to give the report of the study. Could it be approached with great strides Smolensk final determination of the causes of tragedy? If the Russian investigators all documents passed to the Poles for what they ask, perhaps national prosecutors would be able to unravel the mystery of the disaster. The investigation is in place,...

This is going to be an -- if you can't beat them, then beat them over the head with their own stick commentary. And by "them," I mean the Parnell ankle-bitters in the Alaska Legislature, Alaska in general and the Left in Alaska who think it cutesy to come up with a political "hail mary" that would cut into Governor Parnell's large lead over his competitors. The stick I am going to use is actually a stick with three branches. One branch on the stick is the Alaska Constitution Article II, Section 5: No legislator may hold any other office...

I work hard for my money and like many hard working people, I hate to see the federal government take my money and waste it on certain government programs. So I have to wonder why people donate to a political action committee (PAC) or groups that contribute to political issues or candidates. Many years back, I had gotten into a debate with a good friend (who I respect very much) over a PAC and the topic concerned the National Rifle Association (NRA). My good friend was a member with the NRA and he had asked if I was a member...

I have always wondered about President Bush when he made the comments about Vladimir Putin and looking into the soul of the man. "I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue. "I was able to get a sense of his soul. President Bush like many of us want to believe the best in people, hence his comments towards then president Putin. However, as the years past things changed. Bush had the opportunity to get a second look at Putin's soul: Mr. Putin has proved...

This team is beyond any standards - says the fact Mr George Polack (49 l.), a member of the parliamentary subcommittee on aviation flight explaining the reasons for the tragic Polish Tupolev from the presidential delegation. The aircraft crashed earlier this year as it tried to land at Smolensk airport in severe fog. The fog, which had thickened rapidly just before the arrival of the plane, had reduce visibility to little more than 650ft (200m), well short of the recommended minimum of 3,280ft (1,000m) Poland reportedly wants access to US satellite photography that might cast new light on the weather conditions at the time of the crash, according to Gazeta Prawna, a Polish newspaper. Prosecutors want help from American experts as to whether “there is a scientific and technical capacity to generate artificial fog”, the paper...

And you have heard of a communication tower shortly after the third turn of the TU-154: "The Polish 101, and 100 meters to be ready to leave for the second circle"? Yes, but I heard "50." So I told my colleagues just after the crash and remains as a fortress. I also remember that Il also received from the controller command "50 meters and be ready to leave." During the first and second approach.

While Defense Minister Ehud Barak held high level diplomatic talks in Washington two weeks ago, and Industry, Labor and Trade Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer was sent to meet Turkey’s foreign minister last week, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman left on Sunday for a fiveday trip to Latvia, Finland and Lithuania. The trip came just two days after Lieberman met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for 90 minutes to resolve a mini-crisis that erupted when it was reported that Netanyahu bypassed Lieberman and the Foreign Ministry, and sent Ben-Eliezer to talk to Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Brussels to try and halt...

What-40 pilot heard the commands issued by the Presidential tupolewowi tower in Smolensk. Apparently, investigators knew that the Tu-154 was a false path.
