The head cheerleader at one Massachusetts high school has been banned from cheering for the rest of the season after she tweeted an offensive comment about immigrants. Caley Godino, a senior at Revere High School in Revere, Massachusetts, was asked to watch the political debates leading up to the 2016 presidential election. Her teacher tweeted a comment about the low voter turnout for November's mayoral race, which prompted Caley to post a controversial tweet. "When only 10 percent of Revere votes for mayor cause the other 90 percent isn't legal," she reportedly tweeted. (Her profile is private.) As of 2010,...

A Delaware judge on Friday ordered Molly Shattuck, an ex-Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, to serve every other weekend in jail for the next two years. Shattuck was facing up to 15 years in prison after she pled guilty to one count of fourth degree rape back in June. Just over a year prior, Shattuck began a physical relationship with a 15-year old boy (reportedly a classmate of her son) she met over Instagram. She was ordered to pay the victim's family $10,500 as well. [Snip] "I will spend the rest of my life making this right," Shattuck said.

It follows similar actions against the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders and New York Jets filed by cheerleaders claiming they were underpaid.

A New Jersey cheerleader who sued her parents for child support after she moved out was today pictured leaving her family's home with her mother after returning to the house this week. In an apparent sign that the family were attempting to return to normality after their embarrassment, Rachel Canning, 18, climbed into her car to head to school on Thursday while her mother Elizabeth climbed into a separate vehicle. They were followed by her father Sean and a younger sibling. Rachel returned to the Morris County home with her tail between her legs on Tuesday night after a judge...

A judge today blasted an 18-year-old girl suing her parents for support after she ran away claiming they were behind her bulimia and that her father showed her 'inappropriate affection' When Judge Peter Bogaard read an expletive-laden and vicious answerphone message left by Rachel Canning, from Lincoln Park, New Jersey, to her mother, Elizabeth, in which the girl said: 'I wanna s*** all over your face', he said: 'Have you ever in your experience seen such gross disrespect for a parent? I don’t see it in my house.’ The judge, sitting at Morris County court added that Rachel had given...

Parents, don’t let your girls grow up to be cheerleaders. That’s just one lesson to be gleaned from a lawsuit filed by a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders, a National Football League team, which alleges sub-minimum wage pay and other labor abuses. While professional cheerleading may seem glamorous, the cheerleaders allegedly earn barely enough to afford their own pom-poms. And, by the way, if they forget their pom-poms, the cheerleaders are reportedly socked with a fine. [Snip] The Chargers stress that the role is a part-time job and that cheerleaders “should at least hold a part-time job or attend college...

For one Arizona Cardinals cheerleader, hearing the national anthem and seeing the American flag before games have a special meaning. It wasn’t easy for Megan Welter to go from Iraq veteran to NFL cheerleader, but the journey, she said, was worth it. “Our country has given us so many freedoms,” Welter told ABC15. “To be a part of fighting for that and maintaining that means a lot. It gives me goosebumps.” After graduating in 2007, Welter put her dance career on hold to “to take a job that was going to be meaningful, so I decided to join the Army."

FULL TITLE: Yearbook ruined after girl's name is replaced with slanderous caption in high school cheerleading squad photo Someone with a bone to pick with a girl in a cheerleading squad photo somehow managed to get her name replaced with a sexually offensive insult in her high school yearbook. Administrators at Irving High School in Irving, Texas are currently investigating how one of the captioned names in its cheerleading squad photo wound up saying ‘UGLY HOE’ instead of the student’s name. The yearbook went to print and was in the process of being distributed when the offensive language was discovered....

Former NFL cheerleader has been charged with aggravated sexual battery after allegedly grabbing a 12-year-old boy's penis outside his pants ... and attempting to perform oral sex on him. 42-year-old Elizabeth Garner -- who cheered for the Tennessee Titans until 2009 -- was also charged with solicitation of a minor for rape of a child. It's one thing for professional athletes to have to make an ethical decision about using steroids, but college cheerleaders? Anna Watson has to be America's strongest female cheerleader; the University of Georgia student loves spending time in the weight room, and it certainly shows. But she has more important things in her life: Watson passed up a big money fitness modeling contract because she refused to use a legal steroid.

Anita Perry, the 59-year-old wife of Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry, has been very actively campaigning for him on her own all fall. Now, she's taken on a new assignment. Mrs. Perry has launched an online drive to recruit hundreds of volunteers for what she calls the Perry Strike Force. This would consist of Perry fans who would travel to Iowa and work across the state Jan. 2-4, getting out Perry caucus-goers to the hundreds of meeting sites on the evening of Jan. 3. (Don't worry, the BCS Championship Game is not until Jan. 9 this time.) "With over 1,700...

Actress Hayden Panettiere was born and raised in upstate New York, lives in Los Angeles and has no roots in the nation's capital. But she's passionate about securing full representation in Congress for District of Columbia residents. That's what led Panettiere to the John A. Wilson Building, the district's city hall, where Mayor Vincent Gray proclaimed Friday as "Hayden Panettiere Day."

Perry's job creation record is formidable. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 32,000 new jobs were created in Texas in June, more than in any other state. Proving his policies were not a one-off, between June 2010 and June 2011 Texas added 220,000 new jobs, again more than the other "57 states," as President Obama might say. Perry is no "let's all get along" conservative. He wants to make a political difference, mentioning the revival of the 10th Amendment, which guarantees states' rights, as the way to reduce encroaching federal power: "America is not going to move forward until...

Nebraska girl born with no arms and legs has blamed unfair scoring after she failed to make her school's cheerleading squad three years in a row. Julia Sullivan, 16, has complained to the school board after she said she was given 'no accommodation for her disability' during try-outs. The wheelchair user did not make the team after she received a low score in the jumps/kicks category of the trials. Miss Sullivan got her highest marks in the communication skills and enthusiasm/spirit categories. The Aurora High School student, who said that she likes to dance, said: 'I just think it would...

One final note about the CNN Republican debate Monday night: Judging from the number of Leroy Jethro Gibbs slaps to the back of the head I've received, I am apparently the only person in the known universe who didn't think Michelle Bachmann stole the show. Obviously, I missed something that most of you saw. Now, back to the important things. The European Union is struggling to find a way to bail out the government of Greece in the face of its being unable to pay its debts. Countries - like Greece and the U.S. - borrow money to run their...

KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan, March 28, 2011 – As a college cheerleader, Mateo V. Salado was accustomed to being a member of a team. He lived, ate, worked out and competed with the same group of athletes every day. This year, he’s doing the same thing, but on a bigger team. “Being in the military and living in the barracks, eating in the chow hall, and going out and training is no different than an NCAA athlete on a scholarship,” said Salado, who’s now an Army specialist and infantry team leader. “This yearlong deployment in Afghanistan is our Super Bowl,” Salado...

Underneath headlines about Libya, the Japanese disaster and the Republicans’ dainty attempts to nip around the edges of our massive federal debt, the culture war is raging. The left is lobbing nukes into the institution of marriage and the military. Obamacare is going forward, complete with funding for abortion and massive increases in the size of the already enormous Department of Health and Human Services. Defunding this increasingly unpopular power grab should be in every budget bill - but it’s not. Using a combination of judicial activism, executive malfeasance and
