A group of protesters gathered outside Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s Virginia townhouse Friday morning, chanting “no justice, no sleep” and blaring audio of immigrant children crying. About two dozen protesters with the progressive group CREDO Action chanted with megaphones, waved signs that read “child snatcher” and played the ProPublica audio clip of immigrant children being separated from their parents at the border, HuffPost reported. Ms. Nielsen was forced to walk by protesters shouting “Shame!” when she left her house, according to video posted on social media. One man shouted, “You belong in the Hague!” and, “You’re a modern-day Nazi!”...

Washington (CNN)Though the potential separation of very young children from their parents as a result of the administration's "zero-tolerance" border policy has drawn concern across the country, new data released by the government show very few such children have been impacted. As of this week, the Department of Health and Human Services had more than 11,600 migrant children in its care -- roughly 80% of whom are children who came to the US by themselves. But of that total, a much smaller number were under the age of 13, or what is referred to as "tender age" children, and even...

After a week of hounding President Trump for continuing former President Obama's occasional practice of separating the children of illegal immigrants from their parents, they now are howling over his executive order allowing these children to stay with their parents in detention centers. Aspiring 2020 presidential contender Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif) called Trump's effort to keep immigrant children with their parents "inhumane. When we demanded that children and parents not be separated it was our hope that both would be released. ICE could give the parents instructions to return for a court hearing on whether they can stay and release...

Is a policy ‘child abuse’ simply because Trump is executing it? Family separation is over, for now. The executive order President Trump signed yesterday fits within his statutory authority, complies with existing law, and directs his attorney general to petition federal courts to grant him greater authority to “detain alien families together.” The title of the order, “Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation,” contains its own plea that the legislative branch step up and exercise its constitutional authority. This is all good. Families shouldn’t be separated merely to prosecute misdemeanors or during asylum proceedings. The administration should pursue...

Former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson reminded MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell Thursday of the Obama administration’s decision to expand the number of immigrant family detentions. A partial transcript follows: JEH JOHNSON: Illegal migration reacts sharply to perceived changes in enforcement policy — in the short term — but it always reverts back longer term to the longer term trends given the underlying condition of the so-called push factors in central America. So that is what President Trump and his administration have seen now over the last year. The numbers are 40 or 50,000 per month and they are obviously...

Subtitle :Children 'Don’t Need Jail.' President Donald Trump’s executive order ending his administration’s policy of separating migrant families is far from a solution to the border crisis, immigration advocates are warning – and could lead to immigrant children being locked up in detention centers with their parents for “months or years.” “The President doesn’t get any brownie points for moving from a policy of locking up kids and families separately to locking them up together. Let’s be clear that Trump is making a crisis of his own creation worse,” said Karen Tumlin, director of legal strategy at the National Immigration...

In their latest attempt to swing this fall’s election toward the democrats, the left now wants us to focus on “the children.” They haven’t really thought this through. Liberals the world over should work hard to avoid any debate that significantly involves the lives and wellbeing of children. Most anyone armed with even the slightest bit of the truth when it comes to liberalism and “the children” can easily quiet the left in virtually any debate that involves children or the family… …If we can’t trust liberals to instruct children properly on who is a male and who is a...

"Our message absolutely is don't send your children unaccompanied, on trains or through a bunch of smugglers," Obama told ABC News on Thursday. "We don't even know how many of these kids don't make it, and may have been waylaid into sex trafficking or killed because they fell off a train." "Do not send your children to the borders," Obama said. "If they do make it, they'll get sent back. More importantly, they may not make it."

You had to see what came before Hayes: Chris Matthews spending a whole hour taking a victory lap over Trump’s latest order keeping families together, calling Trump a liar for saying there was a law against keeping them together. Hayes(show) comes on 8pm and he does the same for ~ 10 minutes then brings on Andrew Cuomo who says the order means nothing because its illegal to keep the kids with their parents (adult family members) and will be halted by a judge. Better yet Cuomo goes on to say he is suing the government for splitting up the families...

President Trump caved to enormous political pressure on Wednesday and signed an executive order meant to end the separation of families at the border by detaining parents and children together for an indefinite period. “We’re going to have strong — very strong — borders, but we are going to keep the families together,” Mr. Trump said as he signed the order in the Oval Office. “I didn’t like the sight or the feeling of families being separated.” But Justice Department officials said it was not clear whether the practice of separating families could resume after 20 days if a federal...

Chess, not checkers. This is the second big score of the week. In the first one, Trump wants Congress to act and so he took an unpopular policy and enforced it, which is going to lead to a legislative action. Now we get to the second big Trump score. Embarrassing the left. Don't let the left rile you up. Here are some tools with which you can prove that their outrage is completely political and insincere in nature. Via Brandon Derby (H/T Ben Shapiro) on Twitter. These are from 2014. They depict obama's "concentration camps" All from 2014. There are many...

We’ve seen Rep. Elijah Cummings in full emotional outcry before this. He was there, in the streets of his West Baltimore home district, in the televised riots that followed the death of Freddie Grey a few years ago, when tears ran down Cummings’ face and he begged America to understand the plight of young and impoverished black men. And now we see him pleading for some sense of humanity over the lives of young immigrant children, frightened and weeping, separated from their parents over America’s “zero tolerance” at the U.S. border. Cummings is man whose conscience is always on full...

American Airlines asked the federal government on Wednesday to stop using its commercial planes for “transporting children who have been separated from their families due to the current immigration policy.” The announcement, which was posted on American’s website, is the latest fallout from the Trump administration’s decision to separate parents who have arrived at the southern border illegally from their children. Several flight attendants for American, the world’s largest airline, have posted testimony on public and private social media channels in recent days, describing how they have seen groups of unaccompanied Latino children on domestic flights, accompanied not by parents...

On 17 June 2018, right-wing blogs published a flurry of stories reporting that the administration of former United States President Barack Obama had handed immigrant children over to human traffickers. The reports were posted in response to the public outcry over a policy enacted by Obama’s successor, Donald Trump, whose administration in April 2018 announced a “zero tolerance” immigration policy.

The media and political class become more and more outraged over the Trump administration’s decision to detain and prosecute immigrants illegally crossing the border. Lost in the debate is any acknowledgment that President Obama’s administration also used detention facilities. Current U.S. immigration laws, when enforced, have the consequence of temporarily separating adults who arrive with children into separate detention facilities in order to prosecute the adults. The policy of prosecuting immigrants for crossing the border illegally has been in place for multiple administrations. The Obama administration prosecuted half a million illegal immigrants and similarly separated families in the process. So...

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz said in a statement on Wednesday that the airline has told the United States government not to fly children separated from their families by immigration officials on its planes.

The sudden and overwhelming media attention given to the Child Immigrant 'crisis' does not match with any known event. There was nothing that happened that suddenly made people look at this, except... THE IG REPORT. This has gotten the IG report off the front page of all the major media, and they have recruited all the usual suspects to go full bore. They've even brought out... PETER FONDA (who? you might ask? exactly) This looks like they contacted everyone and said "The day after the IG report all we are going to talk about is Child Immigration"

Yesterday on Face the Nation, I responded to questions about the migrant separations from their children under the Trump Administration’s policy announced last month by trying to shift the focus to what drives these migrations in the first place – something that can’t be addressed by a simple band-aid piece of legislation paving the way for more lax border requirements.

President Trump is planning to sign an executive order to allow children to stay with parents caught crossing the border illegally -- a step that could avoid the family separations that have triggered a national outcry and political crisis for Republicans. The action under consideration would allow children to stay in detention with parents for an extended period of time, Fox News has learned. This comes as congressional Republicans scramble to draft legislation to address the same issue, but face challenges mustering the votes. Trump previewed the new measure, while holding out hope for legislation, during remarks to reporters during...

Crocodiles crying for babies in virtue signalling What do, Rachel Maddow, Cardinal Tim Dolan and the omnipresent Hillary Rodham Clinton share in common? Crocodiles crying for babies in virtue signalling how they like all members of the mainstream media dominating prog-left care—“really care”—about children being separated from their parents at border crossings before being locked up in horrifying cages.
