This morning Ed wrote about the anticipated (and delivered) crash and burn of the ratings for last night’s Emmys. I suppose I contributed to that in a small way since I was watching football. In my Twitter feed, I only saw two of the conservatives I follow commenting on the show so that seemed to be a fairly common practice among our tribe. The initial scoring put them in position to be one of the worst rated Emmys outings of the modern era. This led a few timid voices to meekly suggest this morning that just perhaps the show needs...

Thanks to the Great God Almighty in Heaven, who has seen fit to bestow the grand American Republic with the likes of insane, misfit, buffoons, Hillary Clinton and Stephen Colbert...now the official destroyers of the Democrat Party, politically. <p>Near the beginning of the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, host Stephen Colbert hauled former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer onstage to declare that the CBS-broadcast show would have “the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period — both in person and around the world.”</p>

The 69th Emmy Awards are looking as though they’ll be at or near an all-time low in the ratings. CBS’ live telecast of the awards is currently showing a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.58 million viewers, compared to 2.5 and 9.69 million in last year’s preliminary ratings. CBS has ordered time zone-adjusted ratings, and we’ll update this post when they come in. Last year’s ceremony finished with a 2.8 and 11.3 million viewers and was the least-watched Emmy show on record.
