It’s kind of amazing that reporters aren’t digging into exactly how much the WP and CNN paid to make the Covington Catholic Nicholas Sandmann’s suit go away. The fact they settled is tacit acknowledgement that their coverage was biased and wrong.

The Washington Post on Friday agreed to settle a monster $250 million lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann over its botched coverage of his 2019 encounter with a Native American elder. Sandmann declared the victory in a tweet on his 18th birthday. It’s unclear how much the newspaper settled for. “On 2/19/19, I filed $250M defamation lawsuit against Washington Post. Today, I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit,” he wrote. “Thanks to ToddMcMurtry & LLinWood for their advocacy. Thanks to my family & millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I...

In their final encounter during the transition following the 2016 election, Donald Trump’s incoming national-security adviser surprised Barack Obama’s outgoing national-security adviser. Susan Rice writes in her memoir that the Michael Flynn she was dealing with had nothing in common with the firebrand she had watched leading a “lock her up” chant against Hillary Clinton at the Republican National Convention a few months earlier. Flynn, a retired general and the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, was respectful and subdued, eager for her advice. When Rice extended her hand and wished him the best of luck, Flynn asked her...

The federal judge overseeing Michael Flynn’s criminal prosecution has directed the law firm that Flynn fired to reappear as an interested party in the controversial proceeding. On Thursday, that firm complied by filing a notice of appearance. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan of the District of Columbia on Thursday ordered the clerk of the court to “add Covington & Burling LLP (‘Covington’) as an interested party in this matter and directed counsel for Covington to file a notice of appearance on behalf of Covington as an interested party.” John E. Hall, the chair of Covington Burling’s global litigation practice, submitted...

Original defense counsel for Michael Flynn spurned congressional immunity overtures following Flynn's guilty plea. Flynn's original defense attorney also allegedly said he would be unlikely to pursue congressional testimony by Flynn without the approval of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Multiple congressional committees approached Michael Flynn’s original defense counsel to raise the prospect of immunity in exchange for Flynn’s congressional testimony but were spurned, multiple sources familiar with the interactions told The Federalist. After Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements to federal investigators, representatives of multiple congressional committees with oversight responsibility for national security matters asked Flynn’s lawyers if Flynn...

The federal judge presiding over retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn’s case issued a surprise order telling the former national security adviser’s previous attorneys to conduct another search of their entire case archive after it was revealed they failed to turn thousands of documents over to Flynn’s new defense team. The ruling by Judge Emmet Sullivan was made public Tuesday afternoon after Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony, Flynn’s former lawyers at the powerhouse firm Covington & Burling, claimed there were 6,800 records they had only just now unearthed and turned over to Flynn’s current defense team, which has been led by...

President Obama’s first Attorney General, Eric Holder, left a corrupt life in public office and returned to the law firm Covington. While at Covington, lawyers from his firm represented General Mike Flynn and requested dirt on President Trump while withholding important information from General Flynn. It needs to be asked. Was Eric Holder involved? After working for President Obama for six years, Attorney General Eric Holder returned to the law firm where he had previously worked, Covington, where he became a partner in 2015. Covington notes that “In 2014, Time magazine named Mr. Holder to its list of 100 Most...

A Kentucky court rejects the argument from Covington High School students that the comedian is subject to jurisdiction there because local people were asked to shame fellow citizens. On Thursday, comedian Kathy Griffin slipped one of the many lawsuits that followed for her minor role on Twitter, where she demanded names and shame upon the Covington High School students. U.S. District Court Judge William Bertelsman holds that Griffin's attempted doxing doesn't constitute acts committed in Kentucky and thus she's not subject to the jurisdiction of this federal court. In dismissing the suit, the judge adds that allowing Griffin to be...

What do you do when federal government agents manufacture false rumors that you’re a Russian spy? What if they then launch a phony counterintelligence investigation against a US presidential candidate? What do you do when the mainstream media, weirdly allied with corrupt government officials, furthers their lies about you? Or what if the media accuses an innocent high school student of being a racist, selectively editing a video of said teenager to further that falsehood - all because he’s wearing a MAGA hat? What if you are innocent and state prosecutors charge you with second degree murder based on a...

Weeks after their classmate Nicholas Sandmann achieved victory in a lawsuit against CNN for the network’s role in broadcasting a defamatory narrative against him, a group of Covington Catholic students are launching new lawsuits against a list of media liberals who dishonestly attacked the students over the infamous incident at the Lincoln Memorial in 2019...The case was filed in the Kenton County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Sandmann said he was 'proud of the way [Trump] stood for the pro-life movement' and that he 'thought it was one of his best speeches in the history of his presidency.'WASHINGTON, D.C., January 27, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – President Donald Trump thanked Nicholas Sandmann this weekend for the positive review the pro-life teen gave his speech at the 47th annual March for Life. Trump became the first president to address the national pro-life event in person Friday, thanking the crowd for providing a “voice for the voiceless” and assuring them “unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White...

One person is dead and several are injured following a head-on crash involving a charter bus carrying Covington Catholic students, Campbell County police said. The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the AA Highway at California Crossroads in Campbell County. According to witnesses on the scene, a southbound car somehow entered the northbound lanes of the highway, striking the charter bus head-on. "I saw a car come across the median and head toward me," said Ricky Lynn, a witness who was also driving north. "I was able to get out of the way." The driver...

CNN’s decision to settle a multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann has resulted in a bizarre feud between some of the Covington students' high-powered attorneys. The settlement between CNN and Sandmann has reignited another lawsuit, filed last year by attorney Robert Barnes, who represents 10 Covington students, but not Sandmann. Barnes’ clients have chosen to remain anonymous and are referred to as John Does 1 through 10 in the complaint obtained by Fox News. Barnes claims his clients’ lives were forever changed when various celebrities and public figures “called for the kids to be...

According to Cincinnati, Ohio-area Fox affiliate WXIX-19, CNN reached a settlement Tuesday with Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann for an undisclosed amount in federal court. The news brings to an end a dispute nearly a year after CNN decided to falsely tar and feather Sandmann and his fellow students as racist rascals following a January 18, 2019 confrontation with the less-than-truthful Native American activist Nathan Phillips on the National Mall. Fox 19 said that “[t]he amount of the settlement was not made public” and was a piece of a $800 million suit Sandmann brought against “CNN, the Washington...

In February 2019, Covington Student Nick Sandmann’s family hired famed lawyer L. Lin Wood to take on the media and individuals who slandered the 16-year-old Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann, after a video showing fake Vietnam war veteran Nathan Phillips banging a drum in his face in Washington D.C. went viral. Wood is famous for winning defamation suits. He’s who you’d want if you were in the shoes of the Sandmann family. They wanted their son’s name cleared and restored to good standing after the media and others blamed him for an incident that happened at the foot of the...

CNN has just settled a 275 million dollar law suit for slander against Kentucky HIgh School Senior, Nick Sandmann. CNN blinked because they knew that they were going to get their ass handed to them. The rest of the left wing media will definitely take notice and behave accordingly. Hopefully this break through for the 1st Amendment will help conservatives to step forward and sue the pants off media outlets who brazenly lie and slander them such as Justice Kavanaugh. In the mean time Nicks lawyers will be busy fielding a new set of clients. MAGA! https://www.newswars.com/cnn-settles-covington-catholic-lawsuit-out-of-court-for-undisclosed-amount/

The New York Times called them "sidewalk ministers" who practice "tough love." The paper quoted Heidi Beirich of the Southern Poverty Law Center who described them as victims of racism and claimed that they were non-violent. The Washington Post, in its own puff piece on the Black Hebrew Israelites, also falsely described them as non-violent, and concluded that, "Israelite street preaching in parts of D.C., Philadelphia and New York is commonplace, a familiar if odd accent to city life." The odd accent to city life in Jersey City came amid a hail of bullets as two members of the racist...

The shooting that unfolded at a kosher market in Jersey City, N.J., was a "targeted" attack, according to officials who say at least one of the suspects had published anti-Semitic and anti-police posts online before opening fire Tuesday. Mayor Steven Fulop would not commit on Wednesday to calling the shooting an anti-Semitic attack, but said after reviewing surveillance footage, investigators believe the attack was plotted against the Jewish deli. He told reporters footage shows the gunmen passing by other shops before getting out of a van and aiming for the market.
