According to the FDA, there is a multi-state outbreak of Cyclospora infections potentially linked to salads containing those ingredients. Cyclospora is a microscopic parasite that can affect the intestinal tract and cause diarrhea. It is treated with antibiotics. As a result, Giant Eagle, Walmart and Aldi have issued recalls for several Fresh Express salad products. Customers should throw those products away immediately. The recalled products are clearly marked with the letter “Z” at the beginning of the Product Code, which is located on the upper right-hand corner of the front of the package. Those products containing iceberg lettuce, red cabbage...

Romaine lettuce is unsafe to eat in any form, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday in a broad alert in response to a new outbreak of illnesses caused by a particularly dangerous type of E. coli contamination. The CDC told consumers to throw away any romaine lettuce they may already have purchased. Restaurants should not serve it, stores should not sell it, and people should not buy it, no matter where or when the lettuce was grown. It doesn’t matter if it is chopped, whole head or part of a mix. All romaine should be avoided.

The Agriculture Department's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the products, distributed by Caito Foods, have come into contact with lettuce contaminated with cyclospora. The parasite causes intestinal illnesses with flu-like symptoms and other ailments, which can last up to several months. The USDA says Caito Foods was notified from their lettuce supplier, Fresh Express, that the chopped romaine used in some of the salads was being recalled. The products affected by the recall have best-by dates ranging from July 18 through July 23.

Americans are encouraged to embrace diversity and be culturally sensitive to those who have flouted our laws and invaded our nation. Meanwhile, illegal aliens arriving in America have no such requirement. Instead, trespassing tribes relocate, and when they do, rather than assimilate, they transfer habits and activities indigenous to the countries from whence they migrated. Thus, Americans suffer from illnesses that are easily traceable to third-world bathroom habits (TWBH) and lack of hygiene in the developing world. It's not news that illegals work in restaurants as food-handlers. These restaurant workers migrate from countries where, prior to kneading tortilla dough, post-toilet...

A microscopic parasite is getting dozens of Texans sick. Since May, state health officials say 56 cases of Cyclospora have been reported in Texas. 16 of those cases originated in Travis County, which breaks down to more than one out of four victims being in the Austin area. This is the sixth consecutive year Texas has faced a Cyclospora outbreak from late spring to the end of summer. Health officials know they need to shut it down from the source... A 2015 outbreak was finally traced to fresh cilantro. “They were actually tracing it back to the particular fields in...
  • Iowa law prevents officials from releasing names in cyclospora case

Iowa law is preventing state health officials from releasing the name or names of salad brand mixtures implicated in a widespread cyclospora case that has sickened dozens across Iowa. The law states officials can only release the identity of businesses if the problem persists, which officials don't believe is happening because of a drop in cases, officials said in a release on Wednesday.
