George Soros is 89 years old, but by gosh, before he dies, he’s going to see to the internal destruction of America. At least that’s how it seems. How else can we listen to his words in Davos, Switzerland, track his funding of American political races and pay attention to what he says about President Donald Trump, capitalism, and the leftist causes he backs and the leftist Open Society Foundations he runs, and come to any other conclusion? In the last few years, Soros has taken to trying to take over local law enforcement agencies by pumping massive amounts of...

With much of the election energy focused on next year’s presidential election, most of the contests in New York State have stuck firmly to the all-the-politics-is-local playbook, hinging on issues like schools and crime. But one district attorney race on the banks of Lake Ontario has become an unlikely big-money referendum on traditional law-and-order prosecutors, much like similar battles in Boston, Philadelphia and Queens, N.Y. The race in Monroe County pits a Republican incumbent, Sandra Doorley, against an insurgent challenger, Shani Curry Mitchell, a progressive newcomer who has drawn the attention and backing from the billionaire George Soros. Since early...

What is this? I don't know what these are but they are installed every couple of miles around here. It is a big deal because an entirely new utility pole has to be installed which is at least 10 feet higher than the others.

Soros has poured millions into DA races The Democracy Alliance, a secretive leftwing dark money donor network whose members each direct hundreds of thousands in funding to progressive groups, are set to ramp up efforts to elect far-left prosecutors across the nation, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The documents, which were gathered from the Democracy Alliance's three-day fall investment conference last week at the posh La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., show that electing ultra-progressive prosecutors in cities across the country is of high importance to the deep-pocketed donors as part of their "resistance" efforts and...

Even as Democrats publicly and loudly decry corporatist political “dark money,” billionaire Democrats and other donors funnel hundreds of millions to radical and violent causes. Barely a week had passed after Donald Trump’s historic upset in the November 8 presidential election, but some of the world’s richest individuals were already launching a counteroffensive. George Soros and his fellow deep-pocket funders of the Democratic Party and left-wing causes gathered with a lineup of party activists and luminaries from Hollywood, K Street, and Wall Street for a three-day “investment conference” (November 15-17) at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C....

TAVARES, Fla. —Propane explosions at the Blue Rhino LP gas plant rocked the Tavares area on Monday night. The plant is located at the 300 block of County Road 448 and several residential areas surround it. A 1-mile evacuation of the area was ordered before midnight. A massive emergency response was called for after multiple injuries were reported. Several locals called WESH 2 to report seeing flames and hearing loud explosions.

Please do not blame Orlando for the Casey Anthony verdict. Had locals been given a choice, she would convicted overwhelmingly! But we did not get to supply the jurors. They were from Pinellas County, 100 miles and 100 years west of Central Florida. Pinellas County is mostly low class retirees in St. Petersburg, knuckle-dragging cretins in Pinellas Park and the denizens of Scientology World Headquarters in Clearwater. The average IQ in Highpoint and Safety Harbor is less than the air temperature on ays when we wory about the citrus crop freezing. I grew up there, escaped, and recognize there are...

San Jose already has a far higher rate of retired police and firefighters on disability than other large California city. And in the three years since a Mercury News investigation documented that trend, pension trustees haven't denied one of the dozens of claims that have come before them. But a city physician's effort to demand more medical documentation of career-ending injuries now has officers calling for his ouster. Police say Dr. Rajiv Das is holding up officers' disability retirements — which, unlike regular service pensions, are mostly tax-free. Though Das merely advises the trustees who decide disability retirements, police complain...

Ever since I saw the F-35 demon helmet—which gives a 360-degree spherical view of the battlefield—I have wondered how it really looks inside, for the pilot. No more: Jump to minute 3:50.The helmet projects an augmented reality world inside its visor. This image is created by a visualization, targeting, and situational awareness marvel called Electro Optical Distributed Aperture System, which combines the feeds from six advanced infrared digital cameras located around the aircraft and other sensors—like radar—into a seamless 360-degree spherical panorama, all in real time. The panorama inside the helmet effectively makes the F-35 completely invisible to the pilot. In...

I'm rubber, you're glue ... A neighbor's house was burning -- I smelled the smoke and ran over. "Your house is on fire!" I yelled. He gave me a dirty look. "Oh yeah?" he said. "Well your lawn needs mowing." That didn't actually happen. Not literally. But it is the best illustration of what passes for reason among too many in this country. On Monday I wrote about the dismissal of eight, count 'em, eight United States attorneys by the Bush administration, all on one day, all with claims that their work was somehow substandard. Their work was not substandard,...

Sorry for asking, but I just read about the last American soldier they ID'd today. I don't recall ever hearing what became of the F-15 that was shot down over Baghdad a couple weeks ago ... does anyone know what became of the crew? ... I have not seen them as returning and just wanted to know ...

Picture credit:Jonathan Cohen for The New York Times Lawrence Jacobs, whose son will be retried on capital murder charges, said prosecutors made light of the death penalty with their neckwear, which featured images of the Grim Reaper and a noose NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 3 — When Lawrence Jacobs walked into the courtroom a few weeks ago, he couldn't believe his eyes. There was a noose swinging from the prosecutor's chest. Mr. Jacobs's son is being tried on capital murder charges. The noose was on a necktie. Then he saw it again. This time two prosecutors were wearing ghoulish ties, one...
