Today, the Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of bad abortion law: “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.” The issue of abortion will be left to the States. In 1973, the Supreme Court legalized abortion under the auspices of the “right of privacy,” which it held to “encompass a woman’s decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy.” While we do have rights that are guaranteed to us despite not being in the Constitution (those natural rights), abortion was never one of them. Not until Roe, at least. It is estimated that more than 63 million babies...

Social media is hardly reacting favorably to a perceived patronizing statement by VP Kamala Harris about Americans with developmental challenges. In an awkward moment, “cackling Kamala,” as Judge Jeanine Pirro has nicknamed her, inexplicably started laughing, as she often does in other settings, during an interview when she said, in part, “we should allow people with disabilities to fully participate in society.” In making this reference, Harris was apparently promoting her boss’s so-called massive and controversial spending plan ‘Build Back Better’, which is encountering difficulties making its way even through the Democrat-controlled Congress because of its enormous price tag.

My sister and I are the primary caretakers of our elderly mom. She's 89 and disabled and has issues with memory due to age and TIAs. She has been to the ER twice this week. Once by ambulance...second by general admission. We were NOT allowed by the hospital to be with her. We had no way of knowing treatment for her was administered or diagnosis...even tho they gave us a "# to call". That proved useless. She was sent home with a UTI she was sent home with but they failed to treat her for it...even tho it was logged....

Companies like Bird and Lime allow able-bodied people to unlock a set of wheels with their smartphones. In cities around the country, you’ll see millennials scooting through town at speeds of up to 15 mph on their scooter rental. Riders pay $1 to start, then 15 cents per minute to ride—a small price to pay for convenient short-distance transportation. Because the scooters are dockless, riders abandon them as soon as they reach their destination. These next-gen “Bird droppings” litter America’s sidewalks and frequently block wheelchair users’ independence and freedom of movement.

Dick Hoyt, who died Wednesday of heart failure at 80, was a perennial presence with son Rick, completing 32 Boston Marathons between 1980 and 2014. Through bitter cold, searing heat, and windblown rain, they were an inseparable and indomitable entry, running and rolling up and down the hills, always finishing and always with the son one second ahead of the father, as Rick enjoyed pointing out. “My favorite race,” Dick said. “My ears ring for two weeks afterward.”

The executive order, which remains in effect, mirrors Cuomo's controversial nursing home order..... As New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) faces articles of impeachment over covering up COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes and multiple allegations of sexual harassment, there is renewed scrutiny of his administration's mishandling of the pandemic, including focus on an executive order that required homes for people with developmental disabilities to accept coronavirus patients. Cuomo's nursing home scandal, in which the governor issued an executive order to move COVID-19 patients from hospitals to nursing homes and then manipulated data to hide how many senior citizens contracted the...

Besides the Sexual Harassment charges against Cuomo and the disastrous decision to put Covid patients back into nursing homes, Cuomo also mandated that Group Homes for mentally and physically disabled people of all ages accept Covid positive people.... His incompetence is off the charts.... The real story here is not just Cuomo's actions but the actions of other Blue State Governors who instituted the same nursing home policies with similar results....

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home deathtraps have silent partners — a network of some 7,000 group homes where thousands of disabled COVID-19-positive residents languished with little foresight or intervention by the state..... Some 552 developmentally disabled individuals died from COVID-19 in the past year living in small residential group homes, while an additional 6,382 residents and workers were infected, according to the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. No comprehensive protocol existed to combat the disease as infected individuals were purposely mixed with clean households....

If anyone is looking to help my friend out, do NOT use Facebook. Here's why: Facebook - you're on my mind. You are a LEECH. A SCUM SUCKER. I, a disabled Navy veteran, donated to a classmate, friend, and fellow veterans benefit for his medical care. YOU, FACEBOOK, took a "fee" out of that donation. So, my donation wasn't a donation, it was a money making opportunity for you. I will be calling my financial institution at 12 Noon on 22 / Jan / 2021 (TOMORRROW) and refuting the charge if you do not either reverse the fee, or cancel...

A whistleblower in Milwaukee, Wisconsin found that every developmentally disabled client she spoke with had their vote stolen for Joe Biden. Every single one. Even the patients who objected to the idea. NewsTalk1130 reported: Susan couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Client after client, developmentally disabled person after developmentally disabled person all told the same story: Their vote was stolen from them. Susan, a disability service coordinator who works with developmentally disabled adults who live in various assisted living facilities and group homes in and around Milwaukee, says every one of her more than 20 clients told her that they...

North Chicago, IL – Three former North Chicago police officers who retired on disability after being injured in the line of duty will possibly have their pensions revoked for failing to comply with the city’s order to return to work for the department’s 911 center. North Chicago city leaders invoked a rarely-used state law to order a total of nine retired, disabled officers back to work in May of 2019, the Chicago Tribune reported. Use of the law is so infrequent, it is unclear whether it has ever been utilized in the past.

A resident of Forest, Va. has assembled a list of over 1,200 snitches who reported their neighbors for potential violations of the state’s COVID-19 lockdown. Isaiah Knight compiled the list after filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, which gave him the name of people who participated in the Soviet-style snitching campaign against their fellow man. He received information from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) that 1,293 people made complaints to authorities. “The short answer is I wanted to see how many people would rat out Anne Frank. And it’s essentially that,” Knight said...“What you see on this...

Reporting at PennLive.com David Wenner writes that a “point system” proposed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health could leave an especially vulnerable population, people with disabilities, without the health care they need, when it comes to life-saving treatment for COVID-19. “Disability Rights Pennsylvania has filed a federal civil rights complaint,” the Philadelphia Inquirer added. This frightening proposal—“Interim Pennsylvania Crisis Standards of Care for Pandemic Guidelines”– is raising new questions about the prospect of medical rationing during the Coronavirus pandemic, a possibility already raised by assorted “bioethicists.” Under this disturbing system, those with higher scores because of pre-existing conditions would be...

A 16-year-old autistic boy is in a hospital recovering from a seizure he had while handcuffed by police, according to his family. The teen’s mother, Lourdes Ponce, took her family to El Pollo Loco in Fresno, Calif., shortly after seeing a doctor about her son’s recent epileptic seizures, ABC 30 reported. He then experienced another seizure in the restaurant’s restroom, his mother told the local station. She heard her son drop to the floor, she said, but couldn’t reach him because the door was locked. Ponce asked restaurant employees to unlock the door, she told ABC 30. They found him...

On the one hand, there has never been a better time for people with Down syndrome to be alive; advances in science, education, and medicine means they are living longer, healthier, and more independent lives than ever before. Yet on the other hand, despite this fact, people continue to argue that it’s acceptable to deny someone with Down syndrome his or her right to life — simply because of a disability. Even many of the people whose lives are allegedly dedicated to advocating for those with disabilities seem to think preborn children with Down syndrome should be targets for abortion,...
