A man is recovering after he was attacked by his neighbor's dog. The attack happened near 35th and Gore around 8:00 a.m. Monday. An investigation is underway following the attack. Police said a man went outside and was bitten by his neighbor's dog, he then went back inside to get a gun and shot the Staffordshire Terrier, more commonly known as a pit bull. The dog was impounded and is now in quarantine at a local vet while its owner is facing charges. "The dog owner was cited for running at large," Lawton Animal Welfare's Field Supervisor Roy Rodrick said....

Lakemont, Blair County, Pa. - The Blair County Coroner tells WTAJ at 6:18 Thursday night, a 6 year old boy in Lakemont, Blair County was killed by the family Pit Bull. Logan Township Police are investigating. The boy was killed by blunt force trauma at the home along Gesser Avenue. The boy went to Baker Elementary School. FAIRBANKS—A Fairbanks man critically shot a pit bull in Aurora Subdivision on Wednesday evening after it attacked another dog being walked by two girls. The pit bull was shot twice in the head and later euthanized by a veterinarian, according to Fairbanks police officer Doug Welborn. Court documents say a white man called a black man the N-word, and told him he's "in the wrong neighborhood." According to court documents, Mathu Dwain Karcher was with his pit bull when he began closely following a black man, who told Karcher he wanted to give him space because he didn't like pit bulls. As Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were shooting at a pit bull that was charging at them, a 17-year-old boy was apparently struck in the chest by one of the bullets and died, the sheriff's office said....The deputies went to the back of the complex "in an attempt to corral the dog to prevent additional victims," the sheriff's office said, and as they walked to the rear carport area, they found a teenager on the ground who appeared to have been shot in the chest, the sheriff's office said. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has identified a man killed in a dog attack as 83-year-old Michael Downing. Downing was killed by his neighbor's dogs at about 4 p.m. Friday, officials said. Two people were in critical condition in local hospitals Tuesday night after being mauled by four pit bulls near Bret Harte Elementary School in southwest Modesto. Fire crews and an ambulance were called to an address on Elizabeth Way about 11 a.m. Monday morning. A California man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his pack of pit bulls attacked a 63-year-old female jogger, who later died of blood loss from some 200 puncture wounds.
