Soap giant Dove has landed itself in hot water after an advert for one of its products appeared to suggest it can change a user's skin colour. The promotion, for Dove VisibleCare Creme Body Wash - a £2.69 product that is available in Boots - features a 'before' and 'after' skin chart behind a black woman, possibly a Latina and a blonde - all wrapped in towels - standing beside each other. I’m thinking as I peruse my electronic copy of a national photography magazine about some imaging software being advertised in the magazine, that while this software sure is technologically advanced, it is very dangerous in light of the kinds of messages that these photographs can send to our daughters. Take for instance the photo of the girl who’s probably 10-12 years old in this particular advertisement in the photography magazine. SHOOTING TAKES HIT: Public shooting opportunities in national forests are disappearing, and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter proposes to do something about it.
