Authorities in Pennsylvania are pushing back against an initial judgement from the Trump administration suggesting that a shooting in Harrisburg was rooted in terrorism. Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marco said Thursday that gunman Ahmed Amin El-Mofty, who was killed by police officers after he opened fired on authorities in the state’s capital last week, had no known ties to any terror groups, Penn Live reported. Family previously told investigators El-Mofty was depressed about money problems and relationships with his loved ones. The Department of Homeland Security referred to the three shootings in Harrisburg on Friday as "a terror attack." Tyler Q. Houlton, acting press secretary for agency, tweeted a statement Saturday about the incidents. Houlton said that Ahmed El-Mofty was a naturalized U.S. citizen who was admitted to the country from Egypt on a family-based immigration visa. Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico identified the shooter as 51-year-old Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty at a news conference late Friday night.
