The Department of Homeland Security referred to the three shootings in Harrisburg on Friday as "a terror attack."
Tyler Q. Houlton, acting press secretary for agency, tweeted a statement Saturday about the incidents. Houlton said that Ahmed El-Mofty was a naturalized U.S. citizen who was admitted to the country from Egypt on a family-based immigration visa.
"The long chain of migration that led to the suspect's admission into the United States was initiated years ago by a distant relative of the suspect," Houlton said in a release. "One of the most recent links in that chain was an extended family member admitted into the United States from Egypt on an F24 visa."
Houlton also said another individual in an unrelated matter accused of laundering bitcoins to support ISIS is a naturalized U.S. citizens from Pakistan on an F43 visa.
"These incidents highlight the Trump administration's concerns with extended family chain migration," he said. "Both chain migration and the diversity lottery program have been exploited by terrorists to attack our country."

Pennsylvania took in Syrians from the Civil War with Harrisburg and Lancaster in the region listed as destinations for many hundreds of them, perhaps a few thousand in total.
Of course it should have. But no, this country went overboard on adjusting immigration laws to provide terrorists an easy way to get to this country.
Recognizing these for what they are in public, is a very good change.
