On this week’s broadcast of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” former Attorney General Eric Holder suggested President Joe Biden “let the system do its work” in the event of a hypothetical conviction of former President Donald Trump. Holder argued for signs of remorse from Trump and that he had turned his life around before Biden granted the pardon.

It turns out New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t the only prominent Democrat who questions whether America was ever that great. In pointed terms during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Obama-era attorney general Eric Holder posed the question to MAGA-chanting Trump supporters: "Exactly when did you think America was great?" HOLDER ANNOUNCES HE WON'T RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020 The comments echoed those of Cuomo, who took heavy criticism for remarking last year that America “was never that great.” Together, both off-the-cuff comments amount to stunning statements from public figures who until recently were considered potential presidential candidates. In...

Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder reacted to the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court Saturday by questioning the legitimacy of the court and arguing that it needed to regain the nation's trust. Holder -- who served as the nation’s top lawyer under former President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2015 -- said the treatment of former Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland by Senate Republicans, as well as Kavanaugh’s confirmation, meant the legitimacy of the court was in question. “With the confirmation of Kavanaugh and the process which led to it, (and the treatment of Merrick Garland), the...

In their recent ( article in The Hill), John Solomon and Alison Spann reported on the Obama Justice Department’s slow-walk investigation of Moscow’s “bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States.” Obama administration figures involved in the 2009-15 investigation include Robert Mueller, James Comey, Rod Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe — all of whom are involved in some fashion in the current investigation of President (Donald Trump’s) alleged collusion with Russia.Despite extensive information as early as 2009 that Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm and that Russian nuclear officials...

Former Attorney General Eric Holder says he is glad to be unshackled from his old job because employment with the National Democratic Redistricting Committee lets him lash out at Republicans like “orange man” President Trump. Politico recently went on the road with the NDRC’s chairman in Virginia for get-out-the-vote efforts on behalf of Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, the Democratic nominee for Virginia governor. An interview at Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church in Richmond covered everything from NDRC’s efforts to raise over $30 million for gubernatorial races to Mr. Trump’s alleged role in empowering “neo-Nazis and white nationalists.” “You don’t do...

A federal appeals court spanked the IRS Tuesday, saying it has taken laws designed to protect taxpayers from the government and turned them on their head, using them to try to protect the tax agency from the very tea party groups it targeted. The judges ordered the IRS to quickly turn over the full list of groups it targeted so that a class-action lawsuit, filed by the NorCal Tea Party Patriots, can proceed. The judges also accused the Justice Department lawyers, who are representing the IRS in the case, of acting in bad faith — compounding the initial targeting —...

(Reuters) - The Justice Department will monitor voting in Charleston County, South Carolina, in Tuesday's special election to fill a House of Representatives seat, the department said on Monday. Former South Carolina Republican Governor Mark Sanford is facing Democratic newcomer Elizabeth Colbert Busch, sister of television political satirist Stephen Colbert, in the First District House race. The Justice Department said in a statement it was monitoring the election under provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The law bars election discrimination on the basis of race, color or membership in a minority language group. The department did not give...
