Her gun control, made public in August on Medium, shows Warren believes the current ten percent excise tax on firearms is too low. She wants to raise that tax to 30 percent while increasing the tax on ammunition to 50 percent. Because excise taxes are paid directly by the consumer–the taxes are added to the price of the goods–this means a $500 gun would immediately cost $515 and the price for a $20 box of ammo would immediately rise to $30.

And when’s the last time that Democrats ever forced you to pay for something you actually wanted? Through politispeak-gobbledygook they have whispered to one another that they can convince President Trump to deliver them a multi-fold win—and, they think to themselves—we can crucify his re-election chances in 2020. "You smoke out of anxiety because you don't have the food you need," said Harvey, 54, who lives alone in Crum Lynne, Pa. He receives disability checks from the Navy that keep him $2,000 below the poverty line. Harvey relies on his Newports to see him through his hard days. "In my mind, the smoking becomes a comfort as I try to create ways to get food."

EXCISE TAXES RAISE $336 MILLION FOR WILDLIFE . . . When a target shooter purchases a box of ammunition or a hunter a new deer rifle, they are contributing to a system that has been responsible for supporting healthy wildlife populations in America for the last 70 years. These contributions, in the form excise taxes paid on sporting firearms, ammunition and archery equipment, benefit every state and amount to a surprisingly large number: nearly $336 million for 2009, according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
