Facebook just announced a dramatic update to the way that it ranks its News Feed content that will have users seeing more news articles and fewer cute meme photos, like LOLCats. The company cites an internal survey that apparently showed that people prefer clicking links to high quality articles (about current events, sports, whatever) over the latest memes. A Mexican teenager has been accused of brutally killing her best friend after she posted naked selfies of the two girls posing together on Facebook. According to police, Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez, 16, allegedly stabbed 16-year-old Anel Baez 65 times during a fatal attack on March 19. Authorities believe that Gutierrez wanted to get back at Baez for posting the "humiliating" photos. When Baez asked Gutierrez to come to her home in Guamúchil in an effort to mend fences, her “sister” allegedly went to use the bathroom but instead grabbed a kitchen knife and carried out the killing. The headquarters of social media giant Facebook was evacuated Tuesday evening, but police would not say what forced the clearing of the company's campus. The company, founded in 2004, has 6,337 employees as of December 2013, according to the company's website.
