Freerepublic was down during not the most important time of Trump but certainly the most interesting time with no explanation of why, personally I am disappointed of having been given zero explanation, this site is sorta about exposing what went wrong. So if we don't get to hear why one of the most important websites was off line, we should at the very least should have a conversation on what to do to prevent it again from happening, Drudge has gone down a few times recently, he has way more than 250K yearly, we should, in my opinion discuss ways...

I have set my default browser as Firefox (I know, I know) but when I click on a link from my Outlook 2010 (I know, I know) it opens up with a notice on which browser I want to use. I click on "always use this browser, hit OK". But, if I click on it again it will come up with the same notice. How can I get rid of this notice?

Since Free Republic has come back online, I can no longer access it using the Brave browser. The page loads, but as soon as my sidebar appears, the page errors and I get this message: The HTTP response body is transferred with Chunked-Encoding, but the terminating zero-length chunk was never sent when the connection is closed. Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution or an explanation?

Ok so I dont own freerepublic only Jim does. But we support it. Can there be an official report why on one of the most important days of crossing the finish line FR was down? Can that be explained please? Maybe we need to hold a special fundraiser to have a alternative data site and professional server managers that can handle contingency issues? This is by no means a criticism of Jim. But it was like being locked out of our own celebration at the club we belong.

Well. It has been 16 years more or less that I have been on FR. My participation began with the contested Bush-Gore election in late 2000. I've seen a lot of debate, a lot of discussion, and a wide palette of points of view from left to right and on many spiritual subjects. I believe the present season, with not just Trump but a new salvational consciousness on the horizon, is an answer from God to the confusion. FR is acting weid. Why after going to the News| Actvism foruwm, does each POS on the form page show Post Reply| Prvate Reply|To #|View Repies..., only forum page??? The Spell tab is gone as well.

I've been having problems loading pages on Freerepublic for over a week. I thought it was just my connection (I live in the sticks and use a my-fi ATT hotspot for all my internet. However, I have the exact same problem at my work computer in downtown Louisville on a high speed corporate network. The problem manifests itself at least two ways: 1. Pages take so long to load that they timeout and I get a "page reset" message. 2. A partial page loads (often just the first line or two) and then eventually the rest starts showing up in...

<p>1. has functions which are easy to see/find and invoke 2. allows easier upload of pictures 3. that allows email notification of replies to comments 4. that allows editing after a comment is posted 5. that has text editing features so one doesn't need to know HTML code in order to add emphasis. 6. that has a Search function for previous posts 7. that is easier to navigate to the specialty forums such as "Gods, Graves, Glyphs", which, had it not been mentioned in a random post, I never would have found here on FR.</p>

Tried to check my pings without signing on and the SEARCH feature would not drop to USER. Anyone else having problems with this?

I'm looking for Free Republic post editing software. I just upgraded to a new computer with the same OS and loaded the Tree Viewer and Quote maker but the post editing software that showed up before no longer does. Being able to add images or just do simple things like bold or italicize a word is huge and frankly common to all forums these days. Anyone have a link to a working post editing addon for Firefox?

I tried to post an article about the death of Tyson Gay's daughter, and it was apparently pulled because the title of the post was only a portion of the original. Trouble is, the original title was too long to fit (way over 100 characters). What the heck? Can it only be posted as a vanity that will be largely ignored? Mods or others PLEASE advise!

I googled and was told FR was up, but maybe not for me. When I sign in/in ... I get the FR latest posts splash page but "your inquiry returned no results"It's almost 5PME here and it has been down since around 330I attempted a freepmail and I think it went through so this problen may be just the main pageI'm confused

This keeps happening on and off and it's driving me crazy. When I click on someone's name to find their comment history - either with a search on "user", or going to their profile page and clicking "in forum", I see one page of comments. Then when I click on "next page", I am taken to the page of articles they've posted. It's important to be able to see peoples' posting history sometimes - looking for a specific comment, or on a thread, or checking for trollhood either with comment tone/topic, or posting history. I was just now looking up...

May 2nd 2016 I was banned from FR for criticizing FR. Suddenly my account is active again. What happened? I post this in news/activism only because someone may have an answer and my account is "too new" to allow me to email Jim Rob to find out.

What's going on with the postings at FR? The last comment of every thread is being posted instead of the original post.

So I had commented on an article where the nyt I think, was picking apart trumps debt and insinuating that his acceptance of loans from box/GS was somehow a horrible thing for a presidential nominee to do.
