In audio obtained by Motor City Muckraker, a voice, which the newspaper claims belongs to Jim Fouts, the mayor of Warren, MI is heard making racist remarks as well as derogatory, profane comments about older women. Fouts has strongly denied making the comments and has questioned the authenticity of the recording. “You know, blacks do look like chimpanzees,” Fouts (or someone sounding like him) said in the recording. “I was watching this black woman with her daughter and they looked like two chimps.”

A 17-year-old homeless man has been arrested in the on-campus murder of a University of Texas student, according to Austin police. The body of freshman dance major Haruka Weiser, 18, was found in a creek near the school's football field on Tuesday. On Friday, investigators said they plan to charge Meechaiel Criner, 17, with capital murder. Austin police Chief Art Acevedo said detectives arrested Criner at a homeless shelter Thursday evening.

A Gert Town woman is accused of taking a baseball bat to her boyfriend, his car and his eastern New Orleans house Sunday, after New Orleans police said she found the man inside his residence with another woman.
