I was next to the World Trade Center when it fell, and for the past five years, people have regularly asked me, "How has it changed your life?" This month, for the first time, I can say, "I moved to Madison." I was at the corner of Liberty and Broadway when the first tower fell. I was too close to the building to be able to see what was happening. It sounded like a huge bomb, and it felt like a snowstorm of dirt. Everyone ran, but I took only five strides before I could no longer see or run....

Ex-president Bill Clinton is claiming that the Bush White House turned to him in April 2001 to help solve the crisis prompted by China's downing of a U.S. surveillance plane over the South China Sea - and that the Bush administration would use him more except for the objections of "right wingers." "The Administration's only asked me to do two things," Clinton tells the Atlantic Monthly for its March issue. "One is to go to East Timor, which I was happy to do. The other was to talk to Jiang Zemin. Both of us happened to be in Hong...

[This is the transcript of an interview between former President Bill Clinton and James Fallows, of The Atlantic Monthly, on October 21, 2002. It occurred at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Clinton was in Fayetteville to deliver a speech on foreign policy honoring his mentor, the late Senator J. William Fulbright. Also present at the interview were two of Clinton's associates from Arkansas, including Rodney Slater, former Secretary of Transportation. Clinton and his group arrived 45 minutes late. <p>Former President Bill Clinton yesterday said he had been "demonized" for trying to change the nation's health care system, and called for an attempt to find a "bipartisan solution" to improve health care in the country.</p>
<p>"I think it's quite interesting that the worst congressional losses that the Democrats suffered in the last 60 years was the midterm for Harry Truman and my first midterm, and it both happened after we tried to fix health care and we were demonized" for trying to have the government pay for it, Mr. Clinton said.</p>

I just heard Sean complain that he is getting attacked by FReepers and implied that it is affecting his support of the site. I havent seen any attacks on Sean but I did post my opinion that Sean was gonna hang himself with the Trent Lott issue. And in the end...I was correct. Lott is gone...like he should be...I like Sean but he got out ahead of the curve on the Lott issue and found himself basically alone. We all know what was behind the Lott assault and the bias of the Liberal media and the hypocrisy of the Democrats...

Stung by reports that North Korea has failed to abandon its nuclear weapons program as part of a 1994 deal negotiated by his administration, ex-President Bill Clinton revealed last week that he threatened the rogue nation with war in order to get them to comply. In remarks that went completely unreported by the mainstream press, Clinton told an audience at the University of California's Davis campus last Sunday that eight years ago, "we literally threatened to attack and planned to attack North Korea if they didn't end their nuclear weapons program." Clinton seemed anxious to minimize his administration's North Korean...
