Like communities around the country, Chicago is hemorrhaging cash to deal with the devastating consequences of Joe Biden’s border disaster. On Monday, the Budget and Government Operations Committee of the Chicago City Council voted 20-8 to send Mayor Brandon Johnson’s request for $70 million in additional City funding to care for illegals to the full Council. CBS News reports that the request is part of a spending plan announced by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle in February. The State of Illinois and Cook County pledged a combined $250 million to help fund the crisis,...

Roughly 1,300 African migrants gathered outside New York City Hall on Tuesday over what some believed were promises of a green card or work visa if they appeared. “Only 250 people were allowed inside for the 10 a.m. hearing, while the hundreds of others who flocked downtown were left outside in a park, where footage showed them chanting and cheering,” noted the New York Post. The migrants were mostly from countries in West Africa and Guinea. Speaking to the NY Post, some say they were lured to city hall by an activist group promising they’d receive work visas or green...

A 16-year-old student at Central Davidson High School in Lexington, North Carolina, faced a three-day suspension last week, the Carolina Journal reported. The cause? His use of the term ‘illegal alien’ during a vocabulary assignment in English class. The Carolina Journal has omitted the teenager’s name due to his minor status and in order to safeguard his privacy. Similarly, The Gateway Pundit has also chosen not to disclose the student’s identity. Leah McGhee, the mother of the student, reported that the vocabulary exercise included the word ‘alien’. Trying to clarify, her son inquired, “Like space aliens or illegal aliens without...

JACUMBA HOT SPRINGS, CA —About a mile north of the U.S.-Mexico border, a makeshift collection of multicolored blankets and tarps blooms in the desert. The people waiting there are migrants from around the world, most of whom snuck through a gap where an 18-foot steel wall meets a rocky hill outside this desert town []. The camp has a name, hand-painted on a plywood sign and lit with a solar-powered light for people arriving at night: Campo de Asilo, or Asylum Camp. Run by an aid group, it’s a destination for migrants planning to turn themselves in to U.S. border...

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL), Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and a coalition of twenty state Attorneys General took new legal action to stop President Biden from continuing to fly hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from crime-plagued nations directly into cities across the United States. The underlying lawsuit aims to stop the Biden Administration’s “parole” scheme that allows 30,000 aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (CHNV) to enter the country each month and remain–indefinitely. The program allows these aliens–after more or less flying to the destination of their choice–to obtain work permits and ultimately claim...

Madison is among several blue cities and states that used taxpayer-funded Covid aid for programs for illegal immigrants. A Wisconsin lawmaker is demanding answers from the city of Madison in the wake of a report showing the leftist enclave doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal Covid relief funds to illegal immigrants. “The decision to use pandemic relief money to assist illegal immigrants at the expense of Wisconsinites reveals the out of touch priorities of Madison politicians,” Republican state Sen. Duey Stroebel said Thursday in a statement. His office has filed an open records request “to investigate the...

They feel like you anti-American —The last 120 days that I have suffered, still homeless, countless SR numbers, but I watch individuals who came, who have come from thousands of miles away get preferential treatment — This is my home. Yes. Chicago, this is my home. On 43 years, this is my home. This is our home. However, we've been pushed to the wayside, it seems. — You want to say something about the people who've chosen to just disregard the American citizens of Chicago, the residents who pay taxes to stand. This man said the illegals got cars and...

CHICAGO (WLS) -- On Tuesday, the Chicago Health Department confirmed there are some cases of tuberculosis among migrants newly arrived in the city. They are not saying exactly how many cases there are, but did say it's a "small number." The city pointed out that many residents of Central America and South America have latent TB infections, which means they can't pass the virus, but it does cause a positive test result. The health department said it is taking steps to keep these infections contained.

Biden's administration to fly migrants to Florida without notifying officials first and wants to make Florida 'undesirable' for illegal immigrants. The Biden administration's CNHV program allows 30,000 undocumented migrants to be released into the country every month. And a new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) on Monday reveals a vast majority of migrants flown into the U.S. are landing in Miami. Lawyers for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) refused earlier this year to disclose in a FOIA request which airports migrants arriving on the program were landing after boarding flights in Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CNHV)....

A federal judge on Monday tossed part of a lawsuit accusing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of malfeasance when he flew migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in 2022. ... But she said there’s no evidence Mr. DeSantis or his employees were involved in the conduct at issue in Massachusetts, so they weren’t appropriate targets for a lawsuit filed in her district. “Accordingly, Plaintiffs have failed to show that personal jurisdiction exists over the Individual State Defendants, Huerta and Montgomerie, and thus the Amended Complaint is dismissed without prejudice as to those Defendants,” the judge wrote. ... The case stems from Mr. DeSantis’...

On January 30, 2023, Arizona rancher George Alan Kelly, 75, was arrested and charged with the murder of Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea. Cuen-Buitimea was crossing the border from his hometown of Nogales, Mexico, with a group of seven other illegal immigrants donning camouflage attire and rifles. One of the illegal immigrants said the squad of armed men crossed the border into the United States to look for work but scattered after seeing Border Patrol agents. Shortly thereafter, Kelly became aware of the group. He was making lunch when he heard a single gunshot and then noticed five of the men crossing through...

On Easter Sunday, El Paso Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta ordered the release of a large group of illegal immigrants accused of participating in a violent encounter with National Guard troops along the Rio Grande. The incident, which took place on March 21, has been described by authorities as a “border riot,” during which illegal immigrants, predominantly men from Venezuela, overwhelmed security measures and clashed with National Guard forces. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that hundreds of illegal aliens from Africa, Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela made a rush for the border in El Paso, Texas after they were pushed south...

Migrant advocacy groups support provisions of the Democratic governor's budget, namely a $12 million child tax credit, but want to see further spending included in the final piece. Members of the Raise the Floor Alliance and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights touched down in the state Capitol Thursday and outlined a $2 billion spending package. Among their demands is $40 million towards interpreter services and assistance for migrants trying to become citizens. A tight budget year could preclude the proposal, but advocates say surplus revenues and increasing taxes on the wealthy could secure needed funds. Credit... State...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The video shared by former President Donald Trump features horror movie music and footage of migrants purportedly entering the U.S. from countries including Cameroon, Afghanistan and China. Shots of men with tattoos and videos of violent crime are set against close-ups of people waving and wrapping themselves in American flags. “They’re coming by the thousands,” Trump says in the video, posted on his social media site. “We will secure our borders. And we will restore sovereignty.” In his speeches and online posts, Trump has ramped up anti-immigrant rhetoric as he seeks the White House a third time,...

Earlier this week we reported on our findings about net domestic migration trends in the U.S. based on voting patterns in the 2020 elections. (See: “The Great Divorce: 3.7 Million Have Fled Counties That Voted For Biden.”) But we realized there was a discrepancy in the numbers. For example, while more than 483,000 people have moved out of Los Angeles County since 2020, the county’s population only declined by 351,000. Over the past three years, more than 88,000 Americans left Harris County, Texas, yet its population actually increased by 104,000. And, while we found that, overall, 3.7 million people moved...

Advocates for more migration are exploiting the deaths of six migrant workers in the Baltimore bridge disaster to argue that more migration is essential for America. “We know we can and we will rebuild,” said a statement from Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, the Sri Lankan-born president of Global Refuge, an organization that is paid to help settle migrants in American communities. “The contributions of our immigrant brothers and sisters will continue to be essential in that effort.” “Our hearts are with every person impacted by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore,” said the United We Dream, a...
