Detroit City Council member JoAnn Watson on Tuesday introduced a resolution supporting the U.S. Justice Department's investigation into the Florida slaying of Trayvon Martin. Federal investigators are looking into whether or not George Zimmerman violated the teen's civil rights when he followed him in his gated neighborhood out of suspicion, leading to an altercation and the fatal shooting.

President Barack Obama has appointed a far left labor unionist to a security sensitive U.S. trade post. Bob King On February 16, 2011,  Obama  announced the appointment of United Auto Workers president Bob King to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. As U.S. trade positions and data are always  key targets of foreign intelligence services, one would think that appointments to such a body would be subject to thorough scrutiny. Either this was not done in King's case, or affiliation with far left organizations, is no longer considered any sort of danger to national security in today's Washington....

But JoAnn Watson can't recall when the tornado struck her well-kept brick, Tudor-style home on the city's west side, saying it might have been 1993 or 2002. She said she was unaware of a city records discrepancy that has for the past decade listed the parcel as an empty lot, despite the home occupying its plot since 1926. Owners of comparable homes pay $2,000-$6,500 in property taxes.</p>

Gee, what a surprise... A wealthy Democrat in a position of power is taking advantage of the system and tries to claim ignorance when she's caught. Although the home has occupied its west-side plot since 1926, city records have classified the parcel as an empty lot for the past decade. Watson said she was unaware of the discrepancy until the Free Press contacted her. She said the change came before she was elected to City Council...

Owners of comparable homes pay $2,000 to $6,500 in property taxes. Watson told the Detroit Free Press she thought the steep drop in property taxes was a result of tornado damage. She doesn't recall when the tornado struck, however, saying it might have been 1993 or 2002.
