THE BRONX, NY — The city councilman who recently drew fire for his inflammatory remarks about gay people says he will run for Congress to give conservatives and moderates a voice in Washington. Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr. said he will run to replace U.S. Rep. Jose Serrano, who is not seeking re-election in 2020. The Bronx Democrat — who drew widespread criticism for saying the "homosexual community" controls most Council members — filed a form Wednesday establishing a federal campaign committee. He said he will formally announce his candidacy on Saturday.

RUSH: As per usual in these circumstances, this is an amazing thing to watch. You got all these Democrats on this committee that’s led by Serrano from New York, Jose Serrano from New York, and they got Bill Barr, the attorney general. They think they’re gonna get to the bottom because the Democrats without fake news and without conspiracies don’t have any news. They’ve got nothing going on unless they make it up or get a conspiracy. So they are convinced, they’re convinced that they’re gonna get the truth out of Barr today. They are convinced that they’re gonna put...

New York Democratic Rep. José E. Serrano announced Monday that he has Parkinson’s disease and will not seek re-election in 2020. The 75-year-old said he plans to finish his current term, which is his 15th full one in Congress, as the disease has not yet impacted his ability to work. “Today, I am announcing that I am living with Parkinson’s disease,” Serrano said in a statement. “After my diagnosis, I initially planned to continue my work representing the people of the South Bronx far into the future — a responsibility that brings me great joy."

A Democratic congressman on Friday yet again introduced a resolution seeking to repeal the 22nd Amendment, thereby removing the limit on how many terms a president may serve in office. It’s a regular occurrence for longtime Rep. Jose Serrano (D-N.Y.), who has introduced similar legislation every Congress going back at least through 2001. The 22nd Amendment bars any president from serving more than two full terms in office. It was passed by Congress in 1947 and ratified in 1951 as a reaction to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s four-term presidency. Amending the Constitution would require the approval of both the House and...

Another piece of inside information on the backroom Obamacare negotiations has made it outside. During a recent White House meeting with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, President Obama made it clear that this hugely unpopular, obscenely expensive piece of legislation is, of course, all about him.

Liberals have always covetted the return of Clinton in the Oval Office. Those were the days, if only he could run again, they dream. Can you imagine unlimited terms for any president? Nixon perhaps or Bush the second? Maybe we should bring Carter back? God forbid. Now they have Obama. What if President Barack Obama could be our President forever? Imagine that? I know, you think this could never be in the home of the free. But Democrat Congressman José Serrano (NY) had the audicity to propose an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow this to happen. He...

On January 6th, Congressman Jose Serrano from the Bronx introduced a bill in the House of Representatives calling for a repeal of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. For those who are not aware of what that is, it is sometimes known as the "Roosevelt" amendment, adopted in 1951, setting term-limits on the United States Presidency. Franklin Roosevelt, recall, was elected four times - the only President in the nation's history to be elected more than twice.Mr. Serrano is calling for a Constitutional Amendment making the 22nd null and void. The bill is short and sweet. It reads...

As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well. The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution's 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office. Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill's language, proposes "an amendment to the Constitution...
