At 1418 this afternoon, I did not receive the presidential test alert. I'm a little worried. I know several people that received it, no problem, same area code, same town, but not me. What did I do? Was it a technical glitch? My phone was on, I waited purposefully to see the screen that says I got it. But I didn't get it. So what now? Do I contact my senator and complain, maybe it was something I did in my past, maybe it was a phone conversation that was previously recorded by the NSA, I just don't know what...

A conservative group which helped organize the famous March on Washington says it was left out of the seminal civil rights event's 50th anniversary celebration held Wednesday. The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) was one of the six big organizing groups who coordinated the 1963 March on Washington 50 years ago. However, CORE says none of the event organizers at this year's remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech invited anyone from the black conservative organization, particularly CORE's chairman and '63 March on Washington alum Roy Innis (pictured), to speak.

SEER FROM CHURCH-APPROVED SITE CLAIMS CHRIST IS PREPARING FOR A MANIFESTATION Maria Esperanza with Mother Teresa of Calcutta in 1982www.spiritdaily.comIn the revised version of a book based on her visions, seer Maria Esperanza Bianchini of Caracas, Venezuela, claims that Jesus is on the verge of a major appearance or manifestation. The assertion is made in The Bridge To Heaven, a collection of interviews originally published in 1993 and set for re-release this week with updated interviews and information. The Congressional Record (New Search required each time) ^ | 27 Feb 2003 | Sen Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
The PRESIDING OFFICER (Mr. Coleman). The Senator from Vermont. Mr. LEAHY. Mr. President, we have heard a lot about Mr. Estrada and whether he has or has not answered questions. Obviously, I believe he has not. The President of the United States again today asked the Senate to do something that no President of either party should ask for. He asked the Senate to vote without having straightforward answers for a nominee for a lifetime position as a Federal judge on one of the most significant courts of this country. That is not something that would help the Federal judiciary,...

For the first time since 1967, when Ivy Baker Priest was elected treasurer and became the first woman to hold statewide office in California, no woman will hold a statewide constitutional post next year.

Much has been made of the Democratic sweep of the eight offices in November. But when state Controller Kathleen Connell and Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin leave office in January because of term limits, the absence of women in California's state government hierarchy will be glaring.
