Well, then it must be true ... apparently, we are told, Trump has no defense. He should hang it up. Accept over 100+ years in prison-time, and get it over with. Unbelievable. I wonder what Rush would say about such "insight" and "wisdom."https://t.co/O5RKeFivbR— Mark R. A former federal prosecutor said Saturday that former President Donald Trump's post on Truth Social sharing details of his arrest could affect his chances of getting bail and his conditions for release. Trump claimed on his Truth Social account that the Manhattan DA's office will arrest him on Tuesday - and branded the probe 'corrupt and highly political', calling the alleged hush money payment an 'old and fully debunked fairy-tale.' Glenn Kirschner, an MSNBC legal analyst, went on the network Saturday and compared the all-caps rant to his posts leading up to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 and...

I had a column on Monday analyzing Judge Aileen Cannon’s order, earlier in the day, granting former president Trump’s petition for a special master to review materials the government seized from Mar-a-Lago last month pursuant to a search warrant. That analysis focuses on what I believe is the main issue raised by Judge Cannon’s decision: the possibility that Trump, as a former president, retains not only some measure of executive privilege but also the authority to invoke that privilege against the executive branch of the incumbent administration. In this post, I want to focus on a couple of other aspects...

Former president Trump is likely to be charged with obstruction of justice and causing false statements to be made to investigators. [cut] Trump apologists would surely counter that a not-so-average person named Hillary Clinton was not indicted for recklessly mishandling classified information, actually destroying thousands of government records, and making misleading statements (such as the laughable claim that she did not understand classified markings) in her FBI interview. Of course, the Biden Justice Department would not be very sympathetic to that analogy, and Trump would not exactly be arguing from a position of strength if his best defense were that...

Jeffrey Toobin resigns from CNN…

Things will not be the same after this. Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, provided compelling testimony Tuesday that former president Donald Trump is singularly culpable for the Capitol riot. [cut] Instead of trying to stop it, he willfully exacerbated the problem — and would apparently have made it worse still if the Secret Service had not been courageously insubordinate. That’s what we learned today. Things will not be the same after this. Note: The original version of this column incorrectly stated that, on January 6, 2021, President Trump and his Secret...

As the Wall Street Journal relates in an editorial published Monday evening, a dispute has arisen over the counting of mail-in ballots in the closely contested Republican primary election in Pennsylvania between David McCormick and Dr. Mehmet Oz. The candidates seek the party’s nod to run against ailing Democratic nominee, John Fetterman, for the seat now occupied by retiring Republican Senator Pat Toomey.Clearly, the ballots should be counted. [cut]As Politico reports, the Third Circuit ruled that hundreds of undated mail-in votes should be counted because they were received on time. The court has not yet issued its formal opinion explaining...

VIDEOEven though CNN for some strange reason thought it was a good idea to bring Jeffrey Toobin back as its legal analyst, we can never again truly ever really hear what he says. That is because the extremely cringeworthy interview with him by Alisyn Camerota will forever be burned into our brain cells to the extent that it will overwhelm whatever Toobin ever says on whatever topics he comments upon. As an example, let us look at at a few of Toobin's commentaries from the past. Be honest. What were you thinking while supposedly hearing his commentary? Right! And that...

A second man has accused Fox News personality and former Judge Andrew Napolitano of sexual abuse, claiming the judge forced him to engage in strange BDSM sex games over the course of a number of years. Napolitano, who faces another sexual abuse lawsuit filed earlier this month, categorically denied the new allegations, calling it a smear campaign. The alleged victim, James Kruzelnick, claims in the suit filed in New Jersey state court that he met Napolitano while working as a waiter at the Mohawk House restaurant in Sparta, NJ, in 2014. During one of his visits, Napolitano allegedly followed Kruzelnick...

MSNBC Legal Analyst Jill Wine-Banks somehow thought it wouldn’t be controversial or a stain on her objectivity to fund presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign. Federal Election Commission records show that Wine-Banks contributed the maximum FEC-allowed $2,800 to Biden’s campaign March 10. Her contribution to Biden makes any of her analysis of the Trump administration going forward suspect due to a glaring conflict of interest. To make things worse, Wine-Banks’s bio on the professional women’s group The Chicago Network says that she is “a candidate to be a Biden delegate at the 2020 Democratic Convention." Wine-Banks voiced her support...
