Governor Abbott was discussing the situation and giving updates when gun-grabber Democrat Beto O’Rourke interrupted the presser. Abbott was flanked by several state leaders on the stage. When Beto started shouting and pointing at Abbott one member on the stage started screaming back at him. Audience member: Sit down!… I can’t believe you’re a sick son-of-a-bitch to make a political statement at a time like this.” They don’t go for those sick Democrat politics in Texas. Beto was whisked away by security and left the room a few moments later.

Two ice skating rinks in Central Park that are operated by the Trump Organization will remain open for the remainder of the season, CBS New York reports. The rinks were originally set to close Sunday at 4 p.m. because New York City is cutting ties with the Trump Organization due to the Capitol riot. Although the contract with the Trump Organization runs through April, the leases to the Wollman Rink and the Lasker Rink were set to be terminated on February 26. The original Sunday closing date had been chosen to allow time for the Trump Organization to move out....

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — If anything, the 2016 presidential election has been divisive, for the candidates and for voters. And so, when several Donald Trump campaign signs went missing from Charlie Tulumello’s front yard, he assumed it was just neighborhood kids playing a prank. Never did he think the thief was a former administrator at a local college, and a PhD in his 60s. After the thief struck twice, Tulumello decided to place a pair of trail cameras on trees in his front yard to catch any overnight action. Three times, a man — and twice with his dog —...

At the Starbucks annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, CEO Howard Schultz sent a clear message to anyone who supports traditional marriage over gay marriage: we don't want your business. After saying Starbucks wants to "embrace diversity of all kinds," he told a shareholder who supports traditional marriage that he should sell his shares and invest in some other company. According to a report by Forbes, Schultz seemed a bit intolerant of any Starbucks shareholders who opposed gay marriage for moral or religious reasons. During the meeting, shareholder Tom Strobhar (who founded the Corporate Morality Action Center) pointed out that after...

IRAN has returned to the front pages after a summer hiatus. Negotiations aimed at preventing the dreaded Persian Bomb have resumed their desultory course. Iran, although suffering from the international sanctions choreographed by the Obama administration, keeps adding new arrays of centrifuges while insisting the program is strictly nonmilitary. Israel is — or maybe isn’t — edging closer to a unilateral strike..... This strikes me as a good time to address an unnerving question that confronts any concerned student of this subject: Can we live with a nuclear Iran? [....] Now imagine that Iran succeeds in making its way into...

For now, Dayton has registered with the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. Dayton, a multimillionaire who self-funded his 2000 campaign for the Senate, did not seek re-election in 2006. Others who have filed with the board are Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner, state Sen. Tom Bakk (bock), state Rep. Paul Thissen (TEE'-sen), state Sen. John Marty and frequent candidate Ole Savior. Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty has said he will...

Friends of Florida judge George Greer describe him as a low-key conservative Christian, a Republican, a family man, a dog lover. Appellate courts have found over and over again that Greer simply followed the law in deciding a sad and controversial case. But for that sin, the Pinellas County Circuit Court judge was invited out of his Southern Baptist Church. Cynthia Tucker Apparently, Greer's critics, including his pastor, didn't like his rulings in the Terri Schiavo case, which landed in his courtroom in 1998. They wanted him to be an activist judge -- a jurist who ignored the law...
