Hundreds of teachers in Buffalo Public schools say student behavior is out of control. That’s the finding of a new disruptive student behavior survey from the Buffalo Teachers Federation. More than 1,200 teachers from Buffalo Public schools participated in the survey. (1,217 total) The 21 page report shows more than 30% of teachers say that student behavior is out of control and leading to unacceptable learning conditions. The survey was done over a one month period, and teachers from 65 of the 69 Buffalo Public schools responded. A senior cleric at an influential Islamic seminary in northern India has issued a religious decree saying that Muslim women should not watch men playing soccer. Mufti Athar Kasmi said that watching men “playing with bare knees” violated the tenets of Islam and was forbidden for women. Kasmi is cleric at Darul Uloom, Asia’s largest Sunni Muslim seminary in the northern town of Deoband. In October 2016, two men were target shooting in rural New York.  They were sighting in rifles for the upcoming deer season.They could see about a thousand feet, but there was no obvious backstop on the flat ground.  They had two .308 Winchester rifles, a Del-Ton AR, and a pistol. MESA, AZ - A woman who says she was just looking for a ride home was zip tied and sexually assaulted. Mesa Police report that on January 5 a woman was walking near Broadway and Alma School roads when a man offered her a ride home. The man, later identified as 27-year-old Fonseca Roman Orozco, took her to an apartment near Center Street and Southern Avenue. Orozco allegedly zip-tied her hands and and feet and sexually assaulted her several times before taking her outside and cutting her loose.

The fire at Sejong Hospital in the city of Miryang killed 31 people and injured 81, 14 of them in critical condition, the state-run National Fire Agency said. Agency officials said the death toll could increase. Details of the fire including its cause were unknown. But local Miryang fire officials said they put out the blaze at 10:26 a.m., nearly three hours after it started at the first-floor emergency room of the hospital. The Mexican government has been sending thousands of Central American asylum seekers back to their conflict-ridden countries where they fear persecution, a new Amnesty International report claims. The report, based on a survey of nearly 500 people, said Mexico's National Migration Institute, INM, is violating the non-refoulement principle, an international law which bars a country to send back the asylum seekers in fear of persecution. Nearly 40 percent of those detained were in violation of non-refoulement, Amnesty International said in its report, whereas 75 percent of those detained by the INM were not informed of their right to seek asylum...

A state district judge in Comal County said God told him to intervene in jury deliberations to sway jurors to return a not guilty verdict in the trial of a Buda woman accused of trafficking a teen girl for sex.
