MK Mansour Abbas, who heads the United Arab List (Ra'am) party, has warned the incoming government not to allow Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. Speaking to Channel 12 News, Abbas said, "Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount will cause a war. Let's not be naive. When you speak about the most sensitive issue, which is the holy sites, people's brains stop working and it starts to be only religious feeling. We saw how many rounds of escalation were caused because of provocations on the Temple Mount." .....

R' Zionist Chairman Bezalel Smotrich commented on the sample results of the 25th Knesset elections, saying that "this is a broad expression of confidence in our resistance against Abbas and the Muslim Brotherhood. We stood as a wall against this, we fought and exposed Abbas' fraud." He added: "The entire national camp united with us - together with the Likud led by Netanyahu and the religious parties, we managed to overthrow this evil government. With God's help we will establish a government of the national camp."

The State of Israel will be going to vote on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. This will be the fifth election in less than four years. The near parity is between the competing political blocs: the Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-of-center on one hand, and the anti-Netanyahu left-of-center bloc led by Yair Lapid. Netanyahu’s Likud bloc has nevertheless a noticeable advantage; it has a reliable bloc of 60 mandates in the polls, and it may have an even higher number in the real poll – on Election Day. Netanyahu has only to find a single defector to form a narrow coalition government of...

UAL Chairman Mansour Abbas was interviewed by Meet the Press, where he said "There is a dynamic process, I did not come to change the Jews. I accept Jewish society, including the extreme right that exists in it. I say - we came to change together by getting to know each other, talking - and that is what is happening. I see myself as part of the bloc of ...

Evangelical Christians who have become used to the effective leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s longest serving prime minister, may have grave concerns about the newly formed coalition government. But I believe there is good reason to hope that this new government might be just what Israel needs. When I was asked by the New York Times about evangelical reaction to the potential ouster of Netanyahu, I replied, “Your average American evangelical would think it’s a tragedy if Netanyahu is out. It will be similar in many of their minds to Trump losing to Biden.” Despite those concerns, however,...

Mansour Abbas attended a conference of the Islamic Northern faction last night. The chairman of 'RA'AM' Mansour Abbas, who for many in Israeli politicians is considered a legitimate partner, last night attended a conference of the radical northern Islamic faction. The United Arab List, led by Mansour Abbas, visited the Solidarity Tent last night (Saturday) with Sheikh Kamal Khatib, which was established in the village of Qana after his arrest. Sheikh Khatib, who serves as deputy chairman of the northern faction of the Islamic Movement, led the incitement and riots on the Temple Mount. And called security forces "Nazis." In...

A friend asked recently how anyone who supports the right-wing in Israel could advocate for anything other than two right of center parties headed by Naftali Bennett and Gideon Sa’ar to join a government led by the Likud party with Benjamin Netanyahu remaining as Prime Minister. Combined with the two ultra-Orthodox parties and a further right-wing party, they could (easily) form a solid, stable, right-wing coalition, per what my friend posited, is the will of the majority of Israelis. This comes in light of deliberations and negotiations going on as to who will form the next government, with an understanding that...

Released on the heels of Israel's fourth election in two years, the survey found that among the Jewish public, division still remains as to the potential roles of Israel's Arab parties in the government coalition-forming process. According to the survey, some 44% of the Jewish public support a government propped up by the Arab parties, in contrast to 41% who oppose it.This is in stark difference to a similar poll taken more than a year earlier in February 2020, when only 23% of Israeli Jews supported Arab parties propping up a government coalition. Among the Arab populace, the survey found...

Although Prime Minister Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu is facing a long-delayed trial, his party - the Likud - is rising in the polls. Six weeks to Election Day, on March 23, 2021, is a long time in Israeli politics, and it has the potential for many surprises. The discernible trend has been an upward climb for the Likud, which remains the largest party with a wide margin between it and the next party. Netanyahu, moreover, has been polled consistently as the most qualified to serve as prime minister. The Irony about the upcoming election is that it is more than...

With most of the votes counted and no decisive outcome as far as who the next Prime Minister will be, or if Israel will be headed to an unprecedented fifth national election in less than three years, one thing is clear, the big winners in Israel’s national election this week were Israeli Arabs. One might have said that a year ago, after Israel’s third national election in (what was then) a year. Then, the “Joint Arab List,” a faction made up of four Arab political parties running together, won a striking 15 seats in Israel’s Knesset (parliament). This made the...
