Earlier Saturday we reported on “the dumbest tweet in history,” credited to a Bernie Sanders adviser. Yes, to commemorate D-Day, Matt Duss took that famous photo of allied forces off the coast of France and called it the “largest ANTIFA operation in history.” He’s not the first to compare World War II veterans to Antifa — CNN’s Chris Cuomo famously did as well — but as plenty pointed out, Antifa defaced the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. this week. Now NPR political Mara Liasson is making the same dumb comparison: Biggest antifa rally in history. https://t.co/ypa46PvYx1 — Mara...

Mara Liasson, the national political correspondent for National Public Radio, appeared on Fox News Sunday and compared Nancy Pelosi to Winston Churchill. She said, “Nancy Pelosi did two things for which she will go down in history; she was an incredibly effective Majority Leader- and speaker- when there was an opposition president, she helped make a majority, and when she was in the majority she was the hammer that got through President Obama’s agenda and sent it to the Senate. However, that is a completely different role from what she wants to do now for which, I think, she’s kind...

If anyone should feel loved right now, it’s social commentator Juan Williams. His firing by National Public Radio (NPR) for comments he made on Fox News’ O’Reilly Factor has drawn harsh criticism from all quarters, left, right and center. And I join this defensive phalanx. Sacking a man for saying that he gets “worried” and “nervous” aboard a plane when he see people “identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims” with their traditional garb is an example of political correctness run amuck. Heck, Williams was merely giving voice to a disquiet felt by a majority of Americans. And if any...

Liberal group zeroes in on next target: NPR correspondent and Fox News contributor Mara Liasson

Trying to downplay calls--in reaction to the Juan Williams firing fiasco--for the federal defunding of NPR as mere right-wing electoral politics and "cable catnip," Norah O'Donnell has grossly understated the proportion of its budget that NPR obtains from the feds. Aided and abetted by Chuck Todd, Norah offered her misleading math on today's Daily Rundown on MSNBC. O'Donnell claimed that only 1-3% of NPR's budget is derived from federal funding. But as you'll see, the real number is at least double that. View video here.

Poor Mara Liasson. The benignly liberal Fox News contributor is a dead duck now that NPR has suddenly discovered the passage in its Code of Ethics that NPR journalists “should not participate in shows …that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis.”Or maybe not. NPR is so mixed up in its handling of the Juan Williams fiasco that maybe they’ll give Ms. Liasson a pass – further compounding their disastrous public relations handling of the whole mess. NPR fall gal in this media firestorm is President and CEO Vivian Schiller, whose internal memo about Le Affair Juan is a...

Call me lucky. I had a pre-scheduled interview this morning with NPR CEO Vivian Schiller this morning before her speech at the Atlanta Press Club Newsmakers luncheon at the 191 Club in downtown Atlanta. So lo and behold, the entire Juan Williams firing blew up the past 24 hours. I happen to be the first person to talk to her about it. Here is an abbreviated Q&A: Q: Okay. What happened? A: Let’s state a couple of facts. Juan is not an employee of NPR. He’s an independent contractor. He’s not NPR staff. He’s an NPR analyst. We have a...

Now that Fox News contributor Juan Williams has been dropped from National Public Radio, the liberal website Media Matters for America is now targeting Mara Liasson, the last remaining NPR correspondent who works with Fox News. “NPR’s Mara Liasson and her long-running association with Fox News has often raised questions. This might be the proper time for NPR to finally address that thorny issue,” wrote Media Matters columnist Eric Boehlert Thursday in a post entitled “What about Mara Liasson?” “[I]f you look at NPR’s code of ethics, there’s simply no way Liasson should be making appearances on Fox.” Boehlert cited...

Mara Liasson is National Public Radio's top political correspondent. She also helps hold down the left flank on panels where she appears as a FOX News contributor such as Special Report with Bret Baier. Josh Gerstein reports that NPR management has asked Liasson to reconsider her appearances on Fox News because of what they perceive -- in accord with the teaching of the Obama administration -- as the network's political bias:

And while denying that the White House had attempted to influence the NPR journalist, Anita Dunn, former White House Communications Director did state in an interview with NPR: “We see Fox right now as the source and the outlet for Republican Party talking points.” So take that denial for what it’s worth. And NPR mouthpiece Dana Rehr chimed in: “There’s no relationship between the White House’s criticism of Fox and any discussions about Fox that we’re having.” Sure. And since NPR is funded partially by the government, you can imagine that they realize which side their bread is buttered on.

Executives at National Public Radio recently asked the network’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to reconsider her regular appearances on Fox News because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias, two sources familiar with the effort said. According to a source, Liasson was summoned in early October by NPR’s executive editor for news, Dick Meyer, and the network’s supervising senior Washington editor, Ron Elving. The NPR executives said they had concerns that Fox’s programming had grown more partisan, and they asked Liasson to spend 30 days watching the network. At a follow-up meeting last month, Liasson reported that...

Mara Liasson is the national political correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR) and also regularly appears on Fox News Channel's Special Report and Fox News Sunday. It is incredible how far the Obama administration may have taken its "war" on Fox news. According to Politico, NPR, which is partially funded by the US Government, tried to strong-arm Liasson off of Fox News.

Yesterday The Fox News panel with Brit Hume had comments by Mara Liasson regarding the bad reputation that Gitmo has among the Arabs. I was rather dumbfounded by this assertion since I read the American press, not the Arab press and it’s obvious that the bad reputation of Gitmo is found overwhelmingly in the American MSM. Perhaps Mara can cite Arab publications to prove her point, but it’s not the Arab press that’s the cause of the push to close Gitmo. In fact, while I cannot be positive, I believe that most of the reporting from Gitmo is done by...

Re-broadcast coming up soon! In the last segment of Brit's "All Star" panel today, when discussing some politicians' move to allow convicted felons the right to vote, Mara Liasson makes the unsubstantiated statement (she cites no source) that those politicians (Hillary) are going after black voters because 70% of felons are black. Brit made several attempts to gently coax her into rephrasing that, which she doesn't and continues talking. Huh?
