“Beetle Bailey” comic strip artist Mort Walker died Saturday at age 94, his family said. According to his oldest son, Greg, who partnered with his father on that venerable cartoon take on the military life, the elder Walker died of old age at his home in Stanford, Conn. For the second week in a row, Newsweek's Eleanor Clift found herself in a hostile crowd on PBS's "McLaughlin Group." Bret Baier reported that "tons of email" followed the comments of Mort Kondracke and Charles Krauthammer on the Monday panel (Aug. 10th). Rush picked up on their comments today and Mort was back defending himself this evening. I emailed the show tonight (Special@foxnews.com) and let off some steam. Judy Woodruff and Bob Novak, appearing on CNN's Inside Politics, just mentioned that the wife of Mort Kondracke passed away today from Parkinson's. Kondracke is a frequent panelist on Fox News and co-host of Fox's "The Beltway Boys" with Fred Barnes. She had been severely disabled by it for some time. I believe Kondracke actually wrote a book about the experience. I'm sure all FReepers join in expressing our sincere condolences.
