(CBS TV movie; airing March 13, 2005)
Bruce Greenwood and Madeleine Stowe star as two real people - political journalist Morton Kondracke and his activist wife Milly, whose love affair and ultimate marriage was drastically altered when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1987. Morton Kondracke is the executive editor of Washington, D.C.'s Roll Call, and the film will chronicle his battle with alcoholism, and how his wife's illness turned him around into a supporting spouse and caretaker, as well as an outspoken political advocate. Michael J. Fox will be appearing as himself in an epilogue to the film, which will air on Sunday March 13, 2005 at 9:00pm.
The screenplay was written by Jeff Arch (Sleepless in Seattle), based on the best-selling book by Kondracke. Production on the movie began in late November 2004 in Vancouver under the direction of Dan Curtis. The film is being produced by Magna Global USA along with CBS and the Family Friendly Programing Forum.
For those interested......ping.
I know some here don't like Mort much I've always thought he was a intelligent and decent man.....and after hearing about his wife some years ago, I admire him even more.
Me, too.
And I just wanted to remind people who might have forgotten.
I like Mort a lot. He says it's a good representation of their lives. Should be interesting.
I only know of her battle with Parkinson's Disease and Mort's devotion to her in her sickness.
But what kind of activist was she?
Political? Or fighting for a cure for Parkinson's?
Mort is probably the only decent democrat I know. His love for Millie is breathtaking.
I feel the same way. A very fine person and where there are many areas of disagreement with Morty, no one could ever doubt his sincerity or that he has the nation's best interests at heart. (Unlike the pond scum that has infested the Dumocratic party)
Thanks for the ping! Fred Barnes even said on Special Report on Thursday last week, this movie is one to watch.
She's dead.
Me too. I think I just watched a whole episode of 60 minutes for the first time in my life because they had GL in a SW segment. My husband asked what I was watching and when I told him he exclaimed, what?
I don't know, Kid; I guess we'll learn together if you watch.
This show Cold Case is weird as hell. Course I have never watched it before.
Thanks for the heads up, Howl. I wouldn't have known it was on, and god knows I wouldn't be surfing CBS for something interesting to watch.
I think you are so right.....I like to think I can look at both sides of an issue instead of just going along with the crowd which can be murder on FR......LOL......Mort is alot like that and gives kudos to the Pres and Repubs when it is due.....seems very non partisan for the most part
lol
Who cares about the politics of a person? The battles waged, fought and won now, may save countless lives, including ours, down the road.
Well, I'll be darned. Thanks for the ping, Howlin.
