Don't give America to the hard left liberal progressive commie bastard democrats because you can't find purity in the Republican Party A listener to my Constitution Radio with Douglas V. Gibbs program on KCAA AM1050, and regular reader of Political Pistachio, emails me often to challenge what he considers to be my oath to the Republican Party. I have no oath to the GOP. My oath is to God, and my political ideology is that of a Classical Centrist, which is someone that, without compromise, supports the original intent of the United States Constitution. I wish, I have told Nathan,...

Washington (CNN) – Sen. Ted Cruz on Tuesday forcefully argued that Obamacare is not here to stay and pledged that he would continue working to dismantle the health care law in 2014 and 2016.

“I think those elections should be about many, many things,” the Texas Republican said, listing jobs and growth as examples. “But they should be about repealing every bloody word of Obamacare.”

There's quite a few people that serve at the pleasure of the president. There's no congressional oversight because they are members of the executive branch, in effect, and they are simply appointed. Others require the Advice and Consent of the Senate and become more contentious (judicial appointments are always a hot-button issue). Romney needs to walk into the Oval Office prepared to clean house. It's much better to take the political heat early than to have a viper working against you during your presidency. "W" learned this the hard way when he tried to play nice coming into office. Just...

AUSTIN – President Obama’s socialized medicine plan was dealt a serious blow today by a new Beacon Hill Institute study showing that Governor Mitt Romney’s “RomneyCare” plan has cost 18,000 jobs and $8 billion. “If RomneyCare killed 18,000 jobs in Massachusetts, imagine what ObamaCare will do to a U.S. economy already hurting from too much liberalism,” said Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan. “These government-mandated health schemes kill too many jobs and cost too much. RomneyCare’s job-killing results are another reason ObamaCare must be stopped.” Yesterday, Governor Romney defended RomneyCare at a town hall meeting in Sun Lakes, Arizona, saying, “I like...

More than an hour into last night’s debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann attacked Gov. Rick Perry on the HPV vaccination controversy — or more accurately pseudo-controversy. It stems from an executive order issued by Perry in 2007 that required all Texas girls to receive Gardasil, a vaccine against the most common strains of human papilloma virus, before entering the sixth grade. However, Texas lawmakers blocked that mandate. Some critics argued that the vaccine was too new to have been confirmed safe, while others said that Perry’s order would preempt parental rights or give girls a false sense of security, possibly causing...

Sarah Palin and Rick Perry Ready to Challenge Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney? By Thomas Costello July 12, 2011 12:01 PM GMT Rick Perry could be close to announcing his candidacy for GOP presidential nomination just hours after it was revealed that Sarah Palin could also be ready to announce her nomination for the presidential nomination. The decision from Rick Perry comes off the back of a report that suggests Republican donors are not willing to back Michele Bachmann or Mitt Romney and they want both Sarah Palin and Rick Perry to stand to give the Republican party the greatest...

If Mitt Romney wins the Republican nomination for president, Tea Party activists may not show up at all to vote in the general election, one leading group associated with the Tea Party movement is warning. “I think that’s a potential problem,” said Matt Kibbe, FreedomWorks’ president, during a wide-ranging interview with reporters at The Daily Caller. He also warned that if Republicans nominate another “John McCain,” activists might even vote third party in 2012. “I believe in redemption, but at some point, you sort of give up,” he said. “And we’ve given up on Mitt Romney.”

There will be much harrumphing and punditry in the next few days about the meaning of Scott Brown's victory and his phenomenal campaign for Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat.... As important as the Massachusetts special election was to the health-care debate, it also represents a come-to-Jesus moment for the GOP. What kind of party will it be? On the surface, Brown's success, especially among independents, suggests that the GOP tent is expanding to make room even for moderate, pro-choice candidates like Brown. Have fiscal conservatives displaced social conservatives as the base?...

BOSTON -- A little-known Republican upended the balance of power in Washington by winning a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts, a result that imperils President Barack Obama's top legislative priorities and augurs trouble for his party in this year's elections. With 75% of the vote counted, Republican Scott Brown was leading his opponent, Massachusetts' Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley 52.7% to 46.3%, according to the Associated Press, which declared Mr. Brown the winner. The Brown victory forces the White House and Congressional leaders into a mad scramble to decide how—or whether—to salvage their long-sought health-care overhaul. Rushing the bill after...

Here is a compilation video of what a number of political pundits and leaders said in reaction to Scott Brown's epic victory last night in the Massachusetts Senate Race: Mitt Romney - "This is monumental, this is epic; Barack Obama has disappointed the American people" John King - "Massachusetts is sending a very blunt message to President Obama." Howard Dean - "This is a backlash against Washington." Ari Fleischer - "I really cannot see Health Care Reform passing in the United States Congress anymore." Sarah Palin - This is a victory of "independence and common sense over arrogance." David Gergen...
