On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” CNN Political Commentator Paul Begala reacted to remarks about President Joe Biden’s memory in the special counsel report on his handling of classified documents by stating that “People who have been under oath are really, really careful. And so, sometimes they say, I can’t remember if they’re not absolutely precise. And the notion that he’d forgotten that his son died? No. He was probably just under a lot of stress. It was the worst day of his life.” But also said that Biden “was the same way 30 years ago. The gaps are...

CNN this morning unleashed a double-barreled blast of scare tactics regarding the urgent need to pass the Democrats' $3.5 trillion spending bill. New Day had on Bernie Sanders-backing Nina Turner, and Clintonista CNN contributor Paul Begala. While the pair were there to represent the progressive and "moderate" Dem wings, respectively, both broke out scare tactics on the bill. A very animated Turner asked, "Senator Manchin, what do you want to negotiate away? Is it child care? Is it the implosion of Mother Earth?"That's right, Joe: unless you agree to spend untold billions on "climate change," the world will implode --...

"Real Time" host Bill Maher had an awkward exchange with CNN commentator Paul Begala on Friday night, confronting him about his former boss Bill Clinton and the former president's ties to deceased sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. "Now, Bill Clinton. People are saying that there are witnesses who saw him on Jeffrey Epstein's sex island," Maher began. "Obviously, it's denied." Begala, who served as a White House adviser during Clinton's administration, shook his head in disapproval -- but Maher doubled down.

Longtime CNN political analyst Paul Begala predicted on Monday that President Trump is "gonna dump [Vice President] Mike Pence in favor of former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley" on July 16 when the Democratic nominee is slated to give his or her acceptance address. The former "Crossfire" co-host "guaranteed" Trump will throw Pence "under the bus" because of his handling of the coronavirus, which the president tapped Pence to lead a task force on last week. “This is not a prediction. It’s a certainty. On Thursday, July 16, that’s the date the Democrat gives his or her acceptance address —...

CNN commentator Paul Begala said Monday night he’d "pay any price" to ensure that a Democratic candidate beat President Donald Trump in next year's election. Discussing the launch of former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, Begala began by telling anchor Chris Cuomo that the 2020 election will mark the first time that he does not have a candidate that he supported during the Democratic primary. “This is what I’m looking for: I’m a JFK Democrat. I will pay any price, bear any burden, support any friend, oppose any foe to ensure the defeat of Donald J. Trump,” the former...

Now that they’ve been dismissed, defanged and declawed by their own party, Bill and Hillary Clinton are doing what comes naturally: Hitting people up for money. Thursday night marked the kickoff, in New York City, of their national speaking tour. Billed as “a one-of-a-kind conversation with two individuals who have helped shape our world … [and who offer] remarkable insight into where we go from here,” the event simply underscored why Hillary lost: Over-promise, under-deliver, avoid accountability, and expect the masses to nonetheless be satisfied. My ticket, a third-row seat in the balcony, cost $210. This bought me 90 minutes...

Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, were reportedly heckled Thursday while speaking in New York City as part of their widely publicized but under-performing "An Evening with The Clintons" cross-country tour. According to a new piece by New York Post columnist Maureen Callahan, who attended the gala, around "[n]ot quite halfway through the event, a man in the front row stood up and interrupted." "'Bill, this is boring!' he yelled," she wrote. "As he tried asking his question — 'Why don't you talk about' — Hillary immediately began talking over him,...

Hillary Clinton on Thursday said that “Game of Thrones” is the television show that most accurately reflects her life in politics. The former secretary of State was asked during a New York event to pick which small screen depiction gets Washington right. “May I ask you — this is a question I get a lot because I lived a life in politics, nothing like yours — which is closer to reality of life in politics, which TV show? 'The West Wing' or 'Veep?'” moderator Paul Begala asked. “Oh, probably ‘Game of Thrones,’” Clinton quipped as the audience laughed. “At least...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This Harry Reid and income tax avoidance of Mitt Romney is a classic example. Let's go back. Here's Harry Reid yesterday morning on the Senate floor. REID: If a person coming before this body wanted to be a cabinet officer, he couldn't be if he did the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns. So the word's out that he hasn't paid any taxes for ten years. Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn't. RUSH: The word isn't out that he hasn't paid any taxes. Harry Reid is the only guy saying...

Yesterday, CNN host Kate Bolduan had guests Amy Kremer and Paul Begala on to discuss President Trump’s claim that Trump Tower was wiretapped. Trump originally made this claim two days before this segment aired, so this had undoubtedly been hashed out before on CNN. But apparently, we needed another 9-minute long segment on this topic.Midway through the segment, Paul Begala stepped in to turn the discussion from Trump’s allegations to another claim. “What we need is a credible, independent special prosecutor—two-thirds of the American people want—to get to the bottom of how Russia helped elect Donald Trump. That’s the...

I would reach out to Obama supporters. Let me nominate Jamal Simmons. He's young (to me) Af-Am and way smart. He worked in the Clinton White House and now does commentary with me on CNN. Other prominent African-Americans should be courted, like Donna Brazile. How 'bout Dee Dee Myers? Not African-American, but rumored to be a woman. Knows the media as well as anyone....

It's just so, so, SO, unfair Technically, Paul Begala’s job title is “Senior adviser for Priorities USA Action and Democratic strategist, Paul Begala.” In reality, it should read “lifelong Clinton suck-up and media shill, Paul Begala.” He’s been wandering from network to network, defending the Clintons in one capacity or another, for decades. ...And that’s fine. It’s his bread and butter. It’s “what he does.” Special: Something Happened in Europe That Just Lowered Your Mortgage However, it looks like he’s finally had enough. Paul Begala is outraged. He’s fed up. He’s mad as hell and he’s not going to take...

Paul Begala who, along with partner James Carville, served as chief strategist to Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, did not want Al Gore on the ticket. “I was not for Gore,” Begala told Bill Kristol recently. “I don’t think he knows that, so hopefully he won’t watch this tape.” Begala went on to discuss playing George W. Bush in 2000 debate prep for Gore: “I kicked his ass,” Begala boasted. “I watched all the tapes of Bush, and I think, as he would say, they ‘misunderestimated’ him.” At least some of the blame, Begala says, belongs to Bill Clinton, who...

According to media reports, one of the prime architects of President Bill Clinton’s political victories, Paul Begala, is arriving in Israel to consult for the campaign of the Zionist Camp party led by Yitzhak Herzog. By all accounts, they can use that help. Not that this week has been a bad one for them. A week ago it looked like the Zionist Camp party was in a free fall and Likud, the party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was on the rise, with Likud taking the lead in polls for the first time in this election cycle. This week’s polls...

As an American, I am appalled by Dick Cheney and his relentless, pathetic and ultimately doomed effort to revise the history of his failures. Cheney's endless media appearances, including this remarkable interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, reveal a nearly sociopathic refusal to admit any error, express any remorse, apologize for any mistake. And so let us review the Cheney record: No vice president has done more damage to our country, not even Vice President Aaron Burr, who shot and killed Alexander Hamilton 210 years ago.

CNN: the home for hate-filled rants against conservatives. On the July 16 edition of New Day, a panel reacted to Jake Tapper’s testy interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney. Democratic strategist and CNN contributor Paul Begala became unhinged, resorting to personal attacks on Cheney in response to his explanations of the Iraq war. Asked by host Kate Bolduan as to why Cheney is speaking out right now – as if the chaos in Iraq didn’t make that self-evident – Begala snapped: “Well, either he's a secret plant from my party, reminding people of an administration that they hated. When...

Published on Oct 16, 2013 During late-night Capitol lawn coverage of the debt ceiling, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper mocked GOP strategist Alex Castellanos for being "high" after the commentator likened Ted Cruz's shutdown strategy to the rabbit mating rituals. Castellanos agreed with his Democratic counterpart Paul Begala that Cruz is behaving in a short-sighted manner by shutting down the government to expand the conservative base. As such, the GOP strategist recalled a bizarre analogy. "A friend explained to me today, finally, what Ted Cruz is doing," he said. "And I finally understand: He's having bunny sex." While Begala let out...

Imagine the media outrage if a conservative commentator listed states where Barack Obama would be hunted down with dogs.On CNN's OutFront Friday, liberal contributor Paul Begala said, "When Bush Sr. carried Pennsylvania, he also carried California and Illinois and New Jersey, places where they would hunt Romney down with dogs" (video follows with transcript and commentary):PAUL BEGALA: It's a tough race. It's a tough year. Come on, [Obama's] not going to win Pennsylvania by ten or eleven or thirteen or whatever he won by last time. You know, Reihan might be right, but he's not. This is a bad move...

On Thursday, Mother Jones reported that billionaire financier George Soros was "panicked" that Mitt Romney would win the election--and then scrubbed the story without explanation. Mother Jones--the left-wing outlet that published the incomplete "47 percent" video of Romney--was reporting on Soros's reasons for donating $1 million to the Paul Begala / Bill Burton run Priorities USA Action PAC on Sep. 27. Priorities USA Action is the same super PAC that ran the now-infamous "Soptic Ad" in which a man falsely linked Romney to his wife's death from cancer years after Romney left Bain Capital to run the Olympics. Soros now...
