April 5 (UPI) -- The dogs had their day at a Chinese mall when 100 huskies escaped from a pet cafe and ran loose through the shopping center. Workers at the cafe in Shenzhen, Guangdong, said someone left a door open, allowing 100 canines to run out into the shopping mall, surprising and delighting shoppers. Cafe employees said the dogs were excited because the business' owner was visiting the cafe after a prolonged absence. An 18-year-old Northern California man who survived a mountain lion attack that killed his older brother is expected to recover, authorities said Sunday. The 21-year-old's death on Saturday in a remote area northeast of Sacramento was the first fatal encounter with a cougar in the state in two decades. SNIP The surviving brother “has undergone multiple surgeries for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery,” the sheriff's office said Sunday. “The family is grateful for the prayers and condolences from the community however wishes for privacy in order to process this tragic event."

Two dogs tore apart a Florida, woman’s car while trying to reach a feline hiding inside the engine. Christie Barr was shocked when she woke up to see her vehicle torn up with an estimated $3,000 in repairs, WJAX reported. “I thought somebody had maybe taken a BB gun and shot my car,” the Jacksonville woman told the outlet.Barr called the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and investigators pouring through security camera footage found the four-legged culprits. The 9-foot gator was relocated from the grounds of the former Coca-Cola plant in Temple Terrace after neighbors raised concerns about a damaged fence around the retention pond. Punxsutawney Phil and his mate, Phyllis, have started a family by giving birth to two baby groundhogs, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The crash was reported about 11 a.m. at the shelter’s location in the 1000 block of Greenbrier Street, according to Metro 911.
