[Video] The video triggered fierce backlash online. HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Big Island man is publicly apologizing after starting an uproar for posting a video of himself urinating on Mauna Kea. After a torrent of criticism, he told Hawaii News Now he learned a valuable lesson and now wants to work to help educate others. Travis Upright gave permission to share a video he recorded, asking for forgiveness. “I never meant to hurt anyone. I never meant to create so much harm but that’s no excuse. • Yuengling accuses Bud Light of trampling on trademark

    12/23/2021 12:43:10 PM PST · by mylife · 40 replies
A trademark tiff between America's oldest beer maker and its best-selling beer brand appears to be over before it really began. Last week, D.G. Yuengling & Son demanded its much larger rival, Anheuser-Busch, stop using a tagline for its forthcoming Bud Light Next zero-carb beer. Bud Light had been calling it the "next generation of beer." Yuengling says that's too close to the trademarked slogan it uses for its low-carb brew Flight. Yuengling poked fun at Anheuser-Busch on social media and sent the beer giant a cease-and-desist letter. Anheuser-Busch has since scrubbed its social media accounts of the disputed posts.

The Saudi police have arrested a Pakistani resident in Jeddah, identified as Khurshid, for selling bottles filled with camel urine. According to Emirates247, the man was arrested because the urine in the bottles was his own. Sources said the accused were raided and the police found dozens of bottles filled with urine, which after being subjected to analysis, came back positive as human urine. Police said investigations revealed that man was engaged in such activities for months. Camel urine has been known to be consumed by some people to help them cure health problems.

Heineken has removed a television ad following a wave of online criticism slamming the commercial as "terribly racist." In a 30-second ad promoting the beer company’s "Lighter is Better" campaign for its light beer, a bartender slides a bottle of beer past several customers to reach a woman in the distance. As several people online noticed, during the commercial the beer passes by customers who are darker-skinned while the woman who receives the beer in the end is noticeably fairer-skinned. Heineken has removed the ad from TV and online rotation and acknowledged that it “missed the mark.” “For decades, Heineken...

A former US Marine who was caught urinating on the corpses of dead Taliban fighters got his conviction thrown out this week thanks to the unlawful actions of a retired general — who “severely and systematically” interfered with the case, a report says. Staff Sgt. Joseph W. Chamblin had been reduced in rank for the infamous 2011 incident, sentenced to 30 days confinement and ordered to pay a $500 fine after he pleaded guilty to wrongful desecration, failure to properly supervise junior Marines, and posing for photographs with battlefield casualties. What he didn’t know at the time was that the...

Videos featuring a small factory in China producing fake beer are now making the rounds on Chinese social media and it’s grossing everybody out. The clips, which are earning collective expressions of disgust among netizens, showed counterfeit beer being siphoned into used Budweiser cans in a process that has a complete disregard for hygiene and care for consumers. Shanghaiist published the videos edited in one footage, showing factory workers using their bare hands while dunking used beer cans into a tub to fill them up with beer-like liquid. Once filled, the cans are sent down a conveyor belt to get...

With just ten days to go before he is sworn in as America's forty-fifth president, the political establishment went nuclear on President-elect Donald Trump Tuesday with a double-barreled blast of “leaked” “intelligence” reports by CNN and BuzzFeed. The documents contain explosive, but unverified, opposition research that alleges intel ties between Russia and Trump and also claims Russia holds sexual blackmail material over Trump. One of the most outrageous unconfirmed allegations in the report claims the Russians recorded Trump watching Russian prostitutes urinate on each other in a Moscow hotel room previously occupied by President and Mrs. Barack Obama. Now this… Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, and...

Scientists on Sunday said they had gained insights into a remarkable bacterium that lives without oxygen and transforms ammonium, the ingredient of urine, into hydrazine, a rocket fuel. So-called anammox -- for anaerobic ammonium oxidation -- germs caused a sensation when they were first identified in the 1990s, but uncovering their secrets is taking time. In a letter published by the British science journal Nature, researchers at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands reported they had identified the molecular mechanism by which the bugs do their fuel-trick. "Proving this was quite a feat," said Mike Jetten, professor of microbiology at...

NEW YORK -- In Tiffany Spaulding's 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry, she has worked for three companies, two of which no longer exist, and relocated to four states. Now 39 and living in Brookfield, Conn., she hasn't had a promotion in five years and says she sees no chance to advance, stuck behind a wall of baby boomers. She would quit and turn her hobby of jewelry design into a business, she says, if not for the home and school loans that eat up half her salary. Spaulding, according to a new report, is a typical member of the...

Oprah called on President Obama's critics on Friday to “show some level of respect.” "I feel that everybody has a learning curve, and I feel that the reason why I was willing to step out for him was because I believed in his integrity and I believed in his heart," the influential TV host said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in Chicago. Of the negative mood of the country, Oprah added, “I think everybody complaining ought to try it for once.” She said the presidency is a position that “holds a sense of authority and governance over us all,” and that...

KEN LIVINGSTONE has told Londoners not to flush the lavatory after relieving themselves. The Mayor of London said that dramatic action was needed to prevent an acute water shortage and painted a vision of standpipes in the streets if nothing is done. Mr Livingstone made the comments while inaugurating a public education campaign to promote water conservation. He said that he could ask ministers for an immediate hosepipe and sprinkler ban if the situation deteriorated. Modifying lavatory habits was an important part of this programme, he said. “The quickest and most dramatic impact is, don’t use a sprinkler or hose...

Librarians in the US have had to admit they are baffled by the case of the urine-stained library books.Hundreds of books at two libraries, just 13 miles apart in Cleveland, have had to be thrown out. Linda Yanko, manager of Geauga West Library, told the Plain Dealer: "I can't even believe we're discussing something like this. It's appalling and disgusting." She said librarians had been finding new cases or urine-related vandalism about once a month with the recent case coming just this week. The problems at Aurora Memorial Library began more than two years ago and damaged books have been...
