So, you're not very much of a believing Catholic, or you hardly go to Church, so what? This immediate time is a critical time in human history. Evil's mask of hypocrisy has been ripped off the mincing, patronizing smiling, nice-nasty face. We have been given a small reprieve. If Jesus isn't coming back now, His mother will make an appearance more radical than Guadalupe or Lepanto. Following the First Saturday observance is how you can get with the program of Jesus's regent, the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Those who disdain her patronage have already declared their choice, which is starkly...

Q: In a recent piece you explained the Pope can resign if he chooses. To me that raises another question: What would happen if a Pope became so mentally debilitated that he didn't know what he was doing?

Viganò and the pyramid of lies The Viganò story broke on the morning of the third day of the Latin Mass Society's Walking Pilgrimage to Walsingham. I started seeing it on social media at a rest-stop about 5 miles from the shrine, as I was tweeting our progress. So I come a little late to the party, and would much rather be writing about other, and more edifying, matters. But here are some thoughts, now I have got home. Catholics, indeed everyone interested in the Church, stand in dazed awe at an audacious pyramid of lies. Broader, comprehensive lies support...

A grand jury's horrific report describing decades of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in Pennsylvania has now climbed to positions of power and influence at the Vatican, including the pope himself. At the same time influential bishops and cardinals were claiming ignorance of abuse, and even blaming the 1,000-plus victims, Archbishop Carlo Vigano (pictured at left) dropped a bombshell: Pope Francis actively covered up the well-known abuses of an influential cardinal. Theodore McCarrick, a Washington archbishop, was allegedly promoted to cardinal even though it was known for years he sexually assaulted male seminarians, Vigano claimed. Vigano, a retired Vatican ambassador...

Pope Francis deleted a tweet Thursday saying “We Christians are not selling a product. We are communicating a lifestyle,” after criticism from Twitter users. The pontiff later replaced the tweet with a similarly worded message, saying instead that Christians communicate “life.” Twitter users lambasted the original tweet, saying that the church’s recent actions and the language of Francis’ message sounded exactly like a sales pitch.

In the two years that led to the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI from the papacy, many strange things happened: leaks, a Secretary of State (Cardinal Bertone) who seemed intent on making things difficult for the pope, and a crisis that seemingly had left his control. Only seemingly: what was actually happening was that the large group of Cardinals involved in what would become known as the "St-Gallen Mafia" were plotting to force Pope Ratzinger's departure in a see of problems, forcing the election of the "anti-Ratzinger" -- indeed, the anti-Ratzinger they had promoted in the previous conclave, Cardinal Bergoglio...

"As a lay Catholic, I sometimes feel helpless to stop this and I have only one tool in my box. Money. I am strongly considering not offering my money at Mass in protest until this is cleaned up. I will spend more time volunteering,” said one “heartbroken” church follower on Twitter"

See my comments below ...Cardinal Cupich released a statement on Sunday calling the letter “astonishing” and correcting what he said are factual errors. He points to Archbishop Viganò’s claim that he was appointed to the Vatican body that chooses bishops “right after he was made a cardinal,” but notes he was appointed to the Congregation for Bishops in July 2016 and that he was not named a cardinal until October. He called for a “thorough vetting” of the claims made in the letter.... ... Others say that one of the central claims of the letter, that Pope Benedict placed sanctions...

“The corruption and filth which have entered into the life of the Church must be purified at their roots,” said Vatican Cardinal Raymond Burke in response to a LifeSite request for comment on the release of Archbishop Carlo Viganò’s testimony. The 11-page letter issued by the former papal representative in the United States released to LifeSiteNews and a few other outlets is filled with revelations of scandals within the hierarchy. “The declarations made by a prelate of the authority of Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò must be totally taken to heart by those responsible in the Church,” said Burke. “Each declaration...

A Church with almost two thousand years of history behind it has inevitably passed through many moments of crisis and many moments of reform. In each instance when crisis-as-cataclysm has been transformed into crisis-as-opportunity, "reform" has meant a return to the Church's roots in order to better engage the spirit and the needs of a given time and place. "Reform," in the history of the Catholic Church, has meant retrieving, and developing often forgotten elements of the Church's tradition. It has not meant rejecting the past, or severing the present and the future from the past. Genuine "reform" has always...

Dear Priests, Deacons, Religious and all Holy Faithful of the Diocese of Tyler, A letter (see below) by Archbishop Vigano, former Nuncio to the United States, raises grave allegations and calls for the resignation of numerous high ranking prelates including Pope Francis. Let us be clear that they are still allegations but as your shepherd I find them to be credible. Using this standard the response must be a thorough investigation similar to those conducted any time allegations are deemed to be credible. I do not have the authority to launch such an investigation but I will lend my voice...

Red Simple ZEPHYRINUS WAS THE FIRST PONTIFF to be buried in the celebrated crypt where the Popes of the third century came after their combat to sleep their last sleep. The catacomb which thus succeeded the Vatican cemetery in the honor of sheltering the Vicars of Christ had been opened thirty years before by the virgin martyr Cæcelia. As when at the point of death she had consecrated her palace into a church, so now from her tomb she caused her family burial-place to pass into the hands of the Church. This gift of the Cæcilii was the inauguration,...

I’ll get right to it: Where is that 300 page dossier that was submitted to Pope Benedict XVI just days before he decided to flee for fear of the wolves? This is the same report that, one has good reason to believe, provides details concerning a vast homosexual network operating in the Vatican.According to a statement issued by the Holy See Press Office on February 26, 2013:The Holy Father [Benedict] has decided that the acts of this investigation, known only to himself, remain solely at the disposition of the new pope.Since having the dossier placed in his hands more than five...

VATICAN CITY—In his first public statement on the horrifying, devastating report on sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, Pope Francis stated he would address the controversy in detail once he’s done talking about climate change for a few more weeks. The head of the Roman Catholic Church claimed he is deeply concerned with the tragic report, but is “just too swamped” with work fighting climate change, criticizing capitalism, and advocating for other issues of social justice to talk about the repulsive report at the moment. “Rest assured, once I have exhausted my talking points on the need for government policies...

The last couple of I have seen this hashish, #NotMyPope. Even I have used it often in just anger when Pope Francis comes out with a new position teaching for the Church. Most recent is death penalty issue. Is that hashtag a good way to protest or not as a Catholic? Thank you and God Bless.

Did Pope Francis say he wants to let loose Rapists & Murderers like Ted Bundy in 2014? Not only does Pope Francis formally professed the heresy that "the death penalty is inadmissible," but he wants to let loose the Ted Bundys to rape and kill or is he senile or so out of touch with reality that he thinks rapist and murderers are miraculously going to stop raping and killing. [Francis formal heresy:http://catholicmonitor.blogspot.com/2018/08/unambiguously-pope-francis-formally.html?m=1] Bundy was a serial murderer and rapist who, also, tortured the victims and even engaged in necrophilia with their bodies. If Ted Bundy had not received the death penalty and was instead...

Pope Benedict strongly criticized the European Union on Saturday for excluding a mention of God and Europe’s Christian roots in declarations marking the 50th anniversary of its founding. Pope Benedict warned the bloc was headed up a slippery slope of indifference and said it could not deny its “historical, cultural and moral identity” that Christianity helped forge. In a toughly-worded speech to European bishops, Benedict said Europe was committing a form of “apostasy of itself” and was thus doubting its own identity. The Pope, who like his predecessor John Paul often calls for a mention of God and Christianity in...

Red Semidouble NAZARIUS AND CELSUS bring glory to the Church of Milan, by appearing on the cycle today. After lying forgotten for three centuries in the obscure tomb that had received their precious remains in the time of Nero, they now receive the united homage of East and West. It was nine years since the triumphal day when Gervase and Protase, no less forgotten by the city once witness of their combat, had come to console and strengthen an illustrious Bishop who was persecuted for his profession of the Divine consubstantiality of the same Christ who had had all...

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI predicted the collapse of the European Union. I do not mean that he declared it grandly (or even authoritatively). Rather, through his books, articles, and quite a few sermons, he delivered a general syllogism: I. Any unity rooted in mere economic interest is a precarious one. II. The EU is a fundamentally monetary union (without the roots required to sustain genuine human community). III. The EU is precarious. Europe, and, by extension, the Western world, has only ever come close to unity by virtue of a common creed. In Europe: Today and Tomorrow, Benedict roots the...
