"As a lay Catholic, I sometimes feel helpless to stop this and I have only one tool in my box. Money. I am strongly considering not offering my money at Mass in protest until this is cleaned up. I will spend more time volunteering, said one heartbroken church follower on Twitter"

The revolt has started.
Bottom: This OTHER guy
I expect to start seeing protests in St. Peter’s Square.
I started my own revolt about 10 years ago when the church started with the leftist petitions of the faithful.
I’d bring an offering envelope, then withhold it if they petitioned prayers for things like “That all world leaders will take steps to protect the planet with which we’ve been entrusted” or other such crap.
Do not be surprised. It is coming.
Money’s fungible. How much do the Catholic Church’s various arms get from Fedzilla?
And with US Catholics being such a small percentage of the worldwide total, I don’t think the Vatican’s bean counters are too worried.
Now if the rest if the planet starts holding onto their wallets...
The pathetic showing of crowds in Ireland is more indicative of a group of people that simply doesn't give a sh!t anymore.
Dennis Rodman would get a bigger crowd in Ireland than Pope Francis these days.

If one was to go that route it would be wise to drop a note in the collection box as to the reason there is no money. That way they know.
Also, how would one know if and when things are ‘cleaned up’?
The latest revelations have had an effect on me. I was always disgusted and angered by the abusive priest scandals, but that memo really removed all blinders. It is not an inept or old-fashioned organization unsure/unwilling to deal with bad members, but it is an organized racket that caters to those abusers. This is about as awful as it gets.
I will always be a Christian, but I can’t support the Catholic Church anymore without a sea change in the hierarchy. I guess I am churchless.
Go find a church that practices church discipline according to Matthew 18.
There is no perfection. But there is a difference between the coverup style and the punish and kick-out style that is noticeable. When known offenders like McCarrick resign or are turned over to authorities instead of getting promotions it will help. When complaints from seminarian dwindle things will look better.
Don’t be so sure about that. The U.S.-based ‘Papal Foundation’ has been a source of direct payments of tens of millions of dollars directly to the Vatican. Outside its rent and investment income in Italy, the Holy See’s main sugar daddies are the U.S. and Germany (through it’s church tax). If American purses close up, they ain’t makin’ up the difference in Nigeria or the Philippines.
I hope so.
I hope so.
Sadly there are very few churches in that regards.
I will post this video again from Fr. Mike Schmitt as I feel is the most heartfelt appeal I have ever seen from the Magisterium. 16 minutes but worth it. God bless:

You may be right but big changes can have small beginnings. The laity has to start somewhere, the only other moral option is to leave the Church altogether.
I started my own revolt about 10 years ago when the church started with the leftist petitions of the faithful.
I started my own revolt over 50 years ago following Vatican II.
Thanks, have not seen that. Will watch later.
