On Monday, after Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) (who is fearless in calling out anti-Semitism) had properly called out Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for her latest display of it, Tlaib’s good friend Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) attacked Cheney with a tweet that was both vicious and self-pitying, ranting, “Give it up, we all know you never met a Muslim you didn’t want to vilify! Your deep seeded hate and Islamophobia might be a tool to rally your base, but won’t get rid your colleagues. You just have to deal.” In response to Tlaib’s anti-Semitic remarks about the Holocaust, Cheney had tweeted,...

It seems a crazy idea that any president would actually want to be impeached. But Donald Trump has so subverted Washington logic with his wild, norm-crushing presidency that there is now a serious conversation -- at least among Democrats -- about whether he views the ultimate constitutional crisis as a weapon in his re-election campaign. The possibility is shaping the strategies of Democratic leaders as they weigh the political risks of impeachment and their duty to defend principles of American governance. Many Democrats fear that Trump may be laying an impeachment trap that could consume the House majority, distract them...

Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., told "Fox & Friends" on Sunday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had made "a bad call" by allowing a Texas imam with a history of anti-Israel comments to deliver the noon prayer in the House of Representatives last week. "Either the speaker's office did not vet this imam at all, or worse, they did vet the imam and then decided that it would have been OK for the imam to come onto the floor of the House of Representatives anyway," said Zeldin. "It's a bad call to have this person. It's horrible judgment, and after...

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for inviting a “radical imam” to speak before Congress. “On Thursday, the noon prayer was given by an imam from Texas who has a long history of, not just supporting BDS, but comparing Israel to the Nazis, accusing Israel of being a terror regime, calling for a Palestinian intifada in the past and inciting violence, supporting the Muslim brotherhood and the list goes on,” Zeldin said Sunday on “The Cats Roundtable” on AM 970 in New York. “I think it is outrageous that Speaker Pelosi on this day, on Thursday, chose...

OPINION | IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE FUTURE WE CERTAINLY MUST UNDERSTAND THE PAST. THIS IS TRUE AT LEAST WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT WE CAN EXPECT FROM CORRUPT POLITICIANS. To envision the size of the pot of gold that Democrats envision for themselves at the other end of the Green New Deal rainbow we only have to look back to the Obama administration, the $3 Trillion in “stimulus” money, the Green Movement, and how it seemingly enriched Democrats, their donors, and Nancy Pelosi in particular. For background we cite a September 2011 article from the Daily Mail: Even as...

Liberals call anyone they don't like Hitler, so often that we have to remind ourselves that there really are monsters out there. One of them is Turkey's strongman Recep Erdogan, who marked the remembrance day for the nearly two million Armenians butchered by the Turkish army and their auxiliaries at the end of World War I. Hitler declared in 1939 that he could kill the Jews because, "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" The Armenian genocide was massively reported at the time by U.S. and other foreign diplomats and comprehensively documented by historians. Despicably, Erdogan...

A federal appeals court ruled Monday the parents of Kate Steinle, who was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant in 2015, cannot sue San Francisco for the "sancutary city’s" failure to tell immigration officials about the shooter’s release. Steinle’s parents alleged San Francisco and the city’s former sheriff shared the blamed for their daughter’s death because officials did not notify Immigration and Customs Enforcement when Jose Ines Garcia Zarate got out of jail.

Dr. Cretella warned the "Equality Act," despite its name, would unfairly strip parents and moral conscientious health...

Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris went to great lengths to avoid agreeing with President Donald Trump on trade policy during a CNN interview that aired Sunday morning. Harris skated around the questions — she focused on how trade deals favor large corporations at the expense of the middle class — from anchor Jake Tapper during the interview that was taped in Oakland, California, earlier in the week.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — An imam who has wished for the end of Zionism, called for a third Intifada and likened Israel to Nazi-era Germany delivered the opening prayer for a session of the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday. Omar Suleiman, the founder and president of the Dallas-based Yaqeen Institute, an organization that describes itself as a resource about Islam, referred to recent attacks on houses of worship — which has included synagogues in the United States — in his opening remarks. “Let us not be deterred by the hatred that has claimed the lives of innocent worshippers across the...

The City of Oakland is in such dire financial straits that it is planning to use $2.9 million from state gas tax revenues to keep the city’s lights on, rather than using the money to fix pothole-riddled roads, for which the funding was intended. The San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday that the city is facing severe financial shortfalls, despite a booming economy that has seen wealthier households relocate from San Francisco across the bay to gentrifying neighborhoods. The problem is that the city’s costs are rising faster than its growing revenues, thanks partly to pension obligations — an increasingly common...

MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton raised eyebrows Wednesday when he met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with critics pointing out that conservatives are scolded for similar relationships. Sharpton’s “Politics Nation” is a weekend news program on the leftist network. Mediaite’s Caleb Howe spotted a photo of the meeting on Sharpton’s Twitter feed and pondered why MSNBC isn’t criticized in the same way conservative outlets are when pundits meet with GOP lawmakers. “The question raised today was whether MSNBC, through Sharpton, should be subject to the same criticism,” Howe wrote.

San Francisco officials voted Tuesday to require brick-and-mortar retailers to take cash as payment, joining Philadelphia and New Jersey in banning a growing paperless practice that critics say discriminates against low-income people who may not have access to credit cards. The vote by the Board of Supervisors was unanimous.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that President Trump is trying to goad Democrats into impeaching him in an attempt to rally his base ahead of the 2020 election. House Democrats allied with Pelosi have been facing pressure from Republicans, who see an advantage in trying to highlight divisions among the left over impeachment. "Trump is goading us to impeach him," Pelosi said at an “Inside Congress” event sponsored by Cornell University’s Institute of Politics and Global Affairs. "That's what he's doing. Every single day, he's just like, taunting, taunting, taunting, because he knows that it would be very divisive...

Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., falsely labeled Attorney General William Barr a “liar.” Our colleague and former Supreme Court litigator Paul Larkin debunked that baseless epithet, as did Harvard Law School Professor Jack Goldsmith and Kim Strassel of the Wall Street Journal. Now House Democrats are threatening to hold Barr in contempt of Congress because he hasn’t turned over the entire Mueller report, even though he released 92 percent of the entire report to the public and more than 98 percent to Congress. What’s the 2 percent not available to congressional leaders? Grand jury information governed by Federal...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not believe President Trump can be removed through impeachment — the only way to do it, she said this week, is to defeat him in 2020 by a margin so “big” he cannot challenge the legitimacy of a Democratic victory. That is something she worries about. “We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” Ms. Pelosi said during an interview at the Capitol on Wednesday as she discussed her concern that Mr. Trump would not give up power voluntarily if he lost re-election by a slim margin next year. Sitting in...
